For the most part, DAP ain't it.
Wrong. Three former Revs Academy players ( Waithe,Ferre,Sinibaldi) and a couple from PDA, among others.

Yes 2017 - Black Rock is all prep school kids, hence the strong placements.

Looks like one from PDA who transferred in from Iona, the others from the Revs. Last year's roster had 5 DA players, but with the exception of the PDA transfer from Iona none are consistent starters and get ok but not great PT. Five international players. Starting GK not a DA player. Don't know about who they're bringing in from other states, but according to the TS thread on commitments the only MA player committed came from NEFC.

Give up HS soccer to end up playing "some" at UMASS Lowell. Yeah, well....

Some kids don't feel the need to play high school soccer. If your kid needs the social aspect of high school sports that's perfectly fine. Other kids have the social part mastered already and prefer to participate in quality soccer instead.

Enough with the tired trope that HS players are social misfits and need HS soccer while DA players are social masters. DA players are more willing to skip HS because their HS team sucks or they hate the coach or feel the training is better in DA. There are many reasons other kids want to play HS soccer and social is only one part of it (although arguably it is a stronger component for girls). But if you want to skip HS to wind up at UMA Lowell playing as much as or less than kids that gave up HS sports (because, don't forget this isn't just about giving up just HS soccer but all sports), then that's perfectly fine also. The number of local players winding up at top D1 programs is very limited, and many of them are prep school kids. Based on the commitment list a large number of non DA kids wind up at great schools. DA isn't for everyone and frankly the DA options in this area aren't the greatest

            not the poster

Astounding arrogance, but no, Biff is NOT all that. And his social "mastery" is questionable given the toxic genes he inherited..BTW, maybe 1 percent of high school kids have every even heard of DAP so flashing he's so good he only plays "quality soccer" doesn't do much good either, especially when the Revs cut him next year.

Who plays a ton as a freshman anyhow in Div. 1 or lower? Playtime time is earned just like anywhere. Seeing any playing time a freshman is a huge accomplishment. Who cares if the kid played HS or DAP? Does it truly matter other than the chest thumping parents? If they get into a good college, get a good education and enjoy themselves...can't complain.

                Not everyone post their commitments.

Rosters and stats are public. Not all former DA players are freshmen yet they don't start consistently.

Luckily my kid plays for the love of the game and because he truly wants to compete. He doesn't even remotely associate being on a team with the social element. He loves his teammates and would do anything for them but they are an entirely different entity than his social circle. The best part is that he couldn't care less who has heard of DA at his school or anywhere else. He doesn't need anyone's endorsement or approval. People like you struggle to understand the kind of choices he makes, which is why you type replies like the one above. That's your issue, not his. His identity isn't tied to his high school. He has a very healthy outlook on life and is quite comfortable in his own skin. Because he can compartmentalize athletics and education he's able to excel at both, but not without a great deal of organization and effort on his part. I'm proud of the person he's becoming. I couldn't care less if he plays soccer in college, but, based on early indications it's likely that he will. As for being cut, it looks as if he'll finish out his DA career, despite your wishes to the contrary.

What's missing in your life that you feel compelled to check these types of stats? Your need to justify the choices you've made can't possibly be this all consuming, can it? Read a book, or spend some time with your family, and perhaps the weight of the soccer world will be lifted from your shoulders.

please stop overcompensating. And if you're on here - like we all are - don't say you couldn't care less if he plays in college.....just be honest with how you feel.

Unlike you I really don't care. I say what I mean. No need to overcompensate on my end either. I'm just offering you one person's story. I'm not paying for college anyway.

when are the rosters coming out?

                              Rosters

Are the 2017-2018 Academy rosters available anywhere? Last year's are still on the Revs website. (And Bolts for that matter)

And before you all jump down my throat, I'm interested because I've seen several of the boys play for a while (before they were DA) with my son.

Sorry, I didn't see the post right before this one.
(Please jump down his throat since he asked first.)
