Revs development track record is lackluster at best. Reality. Lackluster is being kind. Are these families whack? Maybe. The odds of making it aren't good. But they chose to try a development path outside the Revs. Others are opting for the prep school route. If the Revs weren't MLS and the only pro team in town they'd be in more serious talent trouble. But because they are MLS and free they'll get enough talent to finish mid-table year in and year out until a new owner comes in that cares about the program - well after our kids are through the system

Last year's rosters came out the first week of Aug, so I'd think they would be coming out this week.

But see, they don't care - actually neither side cares. USSF wants all the MLS clubs involved, even if it's at the lowest level possible. They'd never in a million years relegate an MLS club. The Revs know that. Combine that with the lack of any kind of management concern for the program and unwillingness to spend any more than a penny on the program, the Revs will continue to flaunt the rules.

I'm surprised Burns doesn't speak up and demand a better quality program for his own son, job security I guess? Anyway, the program will keep running along, like you said, with unsuspecting 12 & 13 year olds joining every year. Remember how excited all those Valeo families were at this time last year, completely oblivious to the myriad shortcomings of the program. The only satisfied customers I've seen posts from on TS were college bound from the start and felt they got a little boost with admission with Revs DA on their resume. Unfortunately, anyone looking for more than that will need to pursue other avenues. Good to hear about some alternative paths kids are trying. The more options uncovered, the better for kids in this region being otherwise stuck with the Revs.

Departures are going to effect the team big time. Across the board.

You described my kid - but he was a pretty consistent starter and was liked well enough to not have issues with management. Being on an MLS team definitely helped with recruiting and there is no competitive league like DA, which made him a better player. But DA has many flaws, the revs have even more. We toyed with prep school but he didn't want to do that. Giving up HS was hard enough so he really didn't want to go away on top of that. If I thought he had a shot at NT or playing professionally I"m not sure what we'd do (other than first getting assessments from a number of non-Revs professionals). I can see why some are trying those alternative paths. I wish no one ill will and maybe it works out them in the long run.
