I wonder if everyone gets denied a training request like this or only just certain players?

National team player seeking winter training prior to national team camp. How do the Revs justify a punishment for a kid improving on himself while it didn't cost them a dime. Odd behavior from a club dedicated to player development.
      Yeah really dumb.

Who set up his EU tryout

Oh and another thing, he's not that good.
Seems to have been enticed to leave for better pastures but not good enough to make the European club. How could someone be so blindsided to take such a disastrous chance without guarantees. Looks like he got scr3w3d. Was it those shady managers talking up a big picture of how to make it in Europe?

Taking chances doesn't come with guarantees. Must have been those shady managers again.

The Revs may not be at the Gold standard of talent identification but they do know when players don't exhibit professional traits and characteristics. They part ways with them and wish them the best.
The group of players shown the door is large, and the common post-Revs pathway involves Bolts/Seacoast or high school/prep school and MPS (or other high level club). More than one player on the former pathway has come back to score a GWG against the Revs (Seacoast players have a particular knack for doing this), and several have been integral players on prep school, HS, and/or club teams that have won championships. The group of players who left of their own accord is admittedly smaller than that of players shown the door. TD and FdB are the poster children for players in the "own accord" group who have achieved at a high level post-Revs, and I can think of at least a couple of others in this group who have done pretty well after leaving Foxborough. So, no, it's not fake news, but it's not nearly as interesting a story as what Top Drawer is reporting.

He's not back for good. Going back soon.

Did the sad cast of characters the Revs put on the field Saturday night in a dismal 1-0 loss exhibit the tiniest bit of 'professional traits and characteristics'?

Time to drain the swamp, Mr. Kraft!

More school missed for a strike 2.

Sell you swamp. The team and the entire are embarrassing. Orlando has a nice new stadium.

Look back at Felix DB a few years ago when he was on the revs academy roster and then appeared on the amateur roster for Malaga in Spain. They cannot collect a transfer fee for underage players. The only way for the revs to collect their investment in academy players is with the homegrown status. If a player makes it to MLS, the revs would own his rights.
Not only that, but have the Revs ever loaned out a player to play in Europe?

Look at Sporting KC - they identified Erik Palmer-Brown early days, loaned him out to Porto and he's doing great. Best player at CONCACAF U-20's.

He's not jetting off to Portugal behind the club's back, they are creating opportunities for him. Big difference in how the respective front offices approach player development.

You'd think they'd encourage training in Europe and tell players to come back and see how they've progressed and if they have, give them a spot. The Academy was not created to OWN players, but to develop them for the National teams. The MLS Academies for their professional league. Why on earth would they want to STIFLE development? So stupid, really.

Problem is that in doing that the Revs and DA are shown for what they are - suboptimal in player development. Better to stifle it and be punitive against players who make them look bad.

Good lord! Give it up. Get his GPA up instead of all this silly crap.

It''s amazing that kraft can be so successful with the pats and so abysmal with the revs. I presume because people just don't care enough, as evidenced by the seemingly large # of revs academy fans here. Fools.

That's what happens when you have 2. One shines and the other suffers. Just holding on for a conglomerate so no one else can have a foothold. Stupid really. Like 45, his bud, he's holding back advancement, in this case soccer, in the Northeast. Can't wait til they're both done and gone after milking the US taxpayers for personal gain... oh and wasting soccer talent
