It's not spin to state facts, and for the 3rd time, both parties were to blame to some degree. The coach should never have confronted the ref about the call and the ref shouldn't have head-butted the coach. Blaming the coach entirely for this unfortunate event is as spinny as it gets.

No, I think the coach is more to blame for initiating the confrontation. However, the facts are the facts and putting the blame entirely on the coach shows your obvious bias. Why else would you be completely focused on the coach and not a referee who also should be able to control himself without resorting to violence?

No one disputes the coach charged the referee. No one disputes the coach grabbed the referee by the throat or neck. A couple people have said the ref 'head-butted' the coach.

Good you've passed your denial stage. However, you seem to have netered a math phase which is not normally part of the stages of acceptance.
If OCYS' intent was to put on a small junior-level weekend tournament, it's a huge success. I'm sure it will be loads of fun, with balloons and snowcones the highlight for most of the players.

The Coach was wrong. Cut and dry. You are under no circumstances allowed to even touch a referee (minus shaking hands) so approaching a referee and choking him is unacceptable.
Maybe the referee headbutted him to get OUT of the headlock.
Whether he did or not does not change the fact that the coach put hands on him first. How else would the referee head butt him? Do you honestly think the referee ran up to the coach spun around and head butted him from behind? Get serious.
OCYS be adult enough to accept what your coach did.
This is what people all across this country think people from Florida are stupid.
Between not handling a damn election, letting Casey Anthony off and sentencing a lady to 20 years for firing a warning shot into the ceiling for self defense while letting a murderer go completely free is screwed up and all you who think that coach is innocent ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Think about your kids and stop being STUPID
Teach your kids right So they don't grow up stupid by believing this crap is justified.

He was offside from my vantage point, but it was very close. The ref had no linesman on that side and he shouldn't have been questioned about that call.
But let's be absolutely clear about who threw the first blow. The coach definately got into the referee's face after he was red carded, but he did not touch the referee until after the ref head butted him. This was witnessed by both benches and for anyone close to the action this fact is not in dispute. My guess is the starter of this thread was the fat guy in the blue shirt that went charging across the field to insert himself into the fight like some half-***ed Rambo. He was on the complete opposite side of the field and would not have been able to see the head-butt from his angle.
I don't condone the coach's actions, he was out of line and initiated the confrontation. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right and the referree should also be suspended.

1) Coach complains about "no call" for offsides
2) Referee red cards coach
3) Coach goes ballistic and approaches referee
4) Referee head butts coach
5) Coach puts referee in headlock/choke hold
6) chaos ensues
7) Police arrive - no one arrested
the coach is clearly in the wrong here, however the referee escalated the situation by initiating physical contact. While I agree that this wouldn't have happened had the coach kept his cool over a non call that we all see every game - the referee should also get some criticism based on initiating the physical aspect of this sad situation.
As far as letting murderers go free and/or locking up others - I wasn't at any of those trials so I will trust our jury system since they get to hear all of the evidence that gets presented - not just what the talking heads with their various agendas want us to hear.
