It's simple OC just stop choking refs. Stay out of arms way by doing the right thing. Manage your coaches daily. Hold regular staff meeting to help those coaches see the light. It's really not that complicated and for pete's sake do not hire guys that strangle refs.

This was an ugly situation this weekend to witness 4 Winter Springs officers and a Florida State Trooper. The Orlando City coach hand cuffed and brought to jail for choking a referee. At least 100/125 kids watching this. All the games stopped. 3 fields on shut down with second group of children ready to play so you figure at least 6 full teams and parents.

Just a crazy thought but if OCYS was a little smart and less selfish they could of played this match at their own complex were they could of controlled the situation and coach possibly with a field marshall. Instead in an effort to block Florida Kraze Krush from full use of Central winds Park they schedule and keep a foot in the door at Central Winds park play their un managed game at CWP without a field Marshall and now a Media Nightmare occurs. OC now has to pay for the fields at Central winds which they really do not need and also deal with this situation.

OCYS this is your doing and well deserved publicity for your selfish behavior.

FKK held tryout in the Outfields of Baseball fields with 400 kids while OCYS held up Central Winds main soccer fields A, B, C and D. OCYS had 12 plus fields at their main campus but again selfish reasons locked up the fields and sadly only had an estimated 25-30 kids at Central winds tryouts.

You can't make up this stuff yes this happened.

What is really sad is that you again try to make this about OC. The earlier poster who said it was like trying to blame the navy for the actions of one man is absolutely correct.

The delight you are taking in this incident is purely as fuel to your anti-OC propaganda campaign and has no genuine concern for anyone affected by the actual indicent.

Maybe the ref's lawyer will agree- "this is just an isolated incident by a rogue coach. Nothing to do with the club."

No games were shutdown except the one involving the incident. BOTH the coach AND the referee were offered the chance to press charges against each other. Neither did.

If OC hailed this coach as the next coming, why was he coaching the fifth tier U-15 team (not counting DA)? If he was a "highly recognized coach," why can't I find any articles about him online? Is his name misspelled on Got Soccer? What club was he with prior to OCYS? Since you know so much about him, can you give us his background? Was he really cuffed and brought to jail? I thought the earlier report from the Rockledge parent said he wasn't arrested. I thought you said earlier that a "few hundred" children were watching. Now it is down to "100/125" (is that 100 to 125, or 100 divided by 125, which would be 0.8?)

The "inappropriate behavior" in Atlanta TWO YEARS AGO was by parents of an opposing team in a game vs CFK. If you're going to try to deflect the subject, at least have a light grip on the facts.

The referee involved has not pressed any criminal charges. The ref has filed an incident report with FYSA. The referee will not pursue any legal action.

i'm not "pushing an argument" (and I'm not the poster that made claims about the coach being the next coming, etc.)

I read this thread this morning, and it sure looks to me like it has gone from legitimate outrage and concern on the part of OC members to a "circle the wagons" deal where everyone seems to claim it means little just because the guy was a volunteer coaching a rec team.

The biggest problem people have with the Orlando City organization is simple- nobody takes ACCOUNTABILITY. It's all a constant drumbeat of blaming other people or circumstances for various problems- minor or major. Whether it's another club, a former employee, "just a rec coach", whatever- nobody in the organization has ever said "hey this was a mistake".

It's all spin and marketing all the time.
