First off, the player was very close to being offside. He started his run in his own half but your son's pass was late so the player was right at the line. He was offside from my vantage point, but it was very close. The ref had no linesman on that side and he shouldn't have been questioned about that call.

But let's be absolutely clear about who threw the first blow. The coach definately got into the referee's face after he was red carded, but he did not touch the referee until after the ref head butted him. This was witnessed by both benches and for anyone close to the action this fact is not in dispute. My guess is the starter of this thread was the fat guy in the blue shirt that went charging across the field to insert himself into the fight like some half-***ed Rambo. He was on the complete opposite side of the field and would not have been able to see the head-butt from his angle.

I don't condone the coach's actions, he was out of line and initiated the confrontation. However, 2 wrongs don't make a right and the referree should also be suspended.

If any of those kids have remarkable talent, they need to get the heck off of a REC team! They are high school age and if you aren't playing State Cup at the least by then....forget about it!

Or perhaps those kids just wanted to play in a more relaxed atmosphere without having to pay $1,000 to be told their kid is better than everyone else. What an incredibly ignorant comment.

Looks like the tournament ended up with 54 OCYS teams out of 149 total participants.

80 of 149 teams are u12 and younger (54%). The good news is the tournament will go much quicker with this many 8v8 matches and two games per field.

did you not see the dozens of people on the sideline (right next to you) who witnessed the Orlando City Coach blow his stack, aggressively charge the referee and start the altercation? Everyone saw what happened. You're just trying to obscure the facts to shift blame to the referee.

Both are to blame, and if you checked your anger management problems (ironic given the topic of this thread) for a second you would understand why the Police rightfully decided not to press charges against either party. And before you say something to make yourself look even more stupid, just because the "victims" decided not to press charges doesn't mean the police couldn't have charged either party based upon witness statements and other evidence.
