It's a showcase, no one cares much about wins or scores that's what the ECNL league is for.

ECNL cares, that is why they rank FCB (and their competition) as far down in the showcase brackets as they can. College coaches arent THAT stupid and realize that the players doing well in the PDA Blue-Solar game are almost always MUCH better than the players doing well in the FCB-FSA game.

College coaches go watch the players they are interested in. They don't care who the kid is playing for or against. Lazy college coaches recruit from clubs. They are the ones who get fired fast.

Ah, so they do care more about the club, team, or league and less about the player? Got it! Why college soccer is so awful almost across the board.

The reality is that they dont really care that much. They will take whatever they can find at very few showcases. Contrast that to basketball (mens and womens), football, and baseball who do a much better job scouring the landscape for players regardless of their club pedigree.

I agree which is why I said those kids are everywhere. As bad as soccer is the girls basketball disparity in talent is even worse. There is good and then there is well. At least with soccer there is an area of middle ground/talent.

Rec level is the level of talent from this area. ECNL kids stink as bad as the EDP kids which is why this area is such a mess developing national level talent.

WRONG! many HS coaches care more about what club team their players play for in both soccer and basketball…wake up and smell the coffee that there are BRD’s in every sport corruption in every sport it not about how you play it is about who you know and who you …..

EDP and GAL are leagues for parents and grandparents to watch their kids and grand kids play. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you don't mind paying the money. College coaches just don't care about EDP or GAL. They recruit primarily from ECNL because that's where you find the best players. The EDP and GAL leagues are primarily for regional D2 or D3 schools. But even the really good teams at this level like Johns Hopkins and MIT recruit ECNL kids.
