They let him out after 12 years. Then he murdered again. LET HIM OUT after strangling a 9 year old girl, put her in a suitcase, his the body in his attic and joined the family SEARCHING the neighborhood for her.

These are the kinds of people Progressives have compassion for, but not for a 2 month old fetus.

I sat through my nephews trial. I saw those pictures but I still don't believe in the death penalty. Perhaps you have heard the legal adage. "It is better that 10 guilty men go free than one innocent suffer" attr. Benjamin Franklin. Sorry but I am interested in justice and not revenge. As a juror you don't have to live with the consequences of the trial as a family does. You are injecting emotion into the justice system which is precisely why so many innocent people have been executed in this country. The number is likely in the thousands. Most of them black. Once again. Facts are stubborn things but that has never gotten in the way of conservative thought.

I was on a jury ex lax. Want to hear about the case? A rich, white, middle aged professional went out drinking with a new buddy. When they got back to new buddies home and new buddy got on phone to talk to girlfriend, perp,goes upstairs and sexually assaults both the daughters.

Want to know the defense? Tske his word because he's an educated professional, successfull and they are children therefore not credible.

In other words white middle age make privilege.

First vote was ten to acquit, two to convict on all charges. I was among the last two. I resolved we weren't going to leave that jury room until he was convicted or judge declared hung jury. See he obviously lied about two things but most didn't pick up in it because he was someone like other jurors, at least the professional well dressed ones somtheynwere unconsciously looking for reasons .....

He went down on two counts. Couldn't get tape because of a technicality ( have to be able to prove penetration and couldn't) but two counts of childhood sexual assault ought to have clipped its wings.

Two of us worked for four days convincing everyone else so justice could be done.

There is only one case that matches his claim. But by my estimation this would place him at age 75-80. 1) Probably total BS, 2) at that age they still think that smoking is good for you... pass them LUCKY STRIKES.... 3) Most 80 year olds I know still have SD TV and an antennae on their roof.

It would happen if someone harmed someone I loved if I became distraught enough to lose my hold on REASON. That's why no death penalty. Lives will be taken emotionally. But REASON tells me that self-defense is the only reason to take a life. I might feel satisfied by a life for a life. It the cycle would continue. Besides there is NO deterrent effect and it costs us way more to kill than incarcerate for,life,msomwthing a formerly budget conscious tea bagged should appreciate.

Think capital punishment may be finally going away for good soon. Thankfully.

The Death Penalty IS SELF DEFENSE. It is a way for society to insulate themselves from the lowest forms of humans, and will prevent them from killing again. Once again you are exhibiting cognitive bias. By opposing the death penalty I am not saying they have the right to live. I am saying is that many mistakes have been made and because of the dishonesty of many prosecuting attorneys and gold shields who are pursuing a conviction at any cost - that the death penalty is not the best course to justice. Life without parole. Too many poor have received inadequate counsel or have been convicted and then cleared because of DNA evidence that mistakes get made too often. One mistake is too many.
