I can't comment on all police academies, but I have a relative that recently completed a big New England city's academy. I don't recall him ever speaking of boxing. I do recall of him speaking of the first 2 weeks being worse than army boot camp which was designed to cull out not so much those that don't physically have it as those that don't mentally have it. And what I mean is they are looking for cops who can take the mental abuse they will often face out on the streets. They are looking for cops that can remain cool under pressure.

No need to generalize. I was specifically responding to Cujo's stances over the past month or so. Specifically commenting on his accusing the U.S. of being "colonialist" as the reason for our use of our military in our brief history, his longstanding hatred of soccer parents and his recent rants about cops shooting people in the back. I was being specific. You were painting with an absurdly broad brush, not me.

And if corruption bothers you, look at your own party. Where you bothered by Lois Lerner and the abuse of power in the IRS? Are you bothered by the deception and lies regarding Fast and Furious? What money? Private corporations? Western Union transfers? How does he do it? Executive order? Only Congress can initiate or alter trade deals. Does he freeze money? How about some details....... I am not saying a wall is a bad thing. But I want to know how it is going to work in terms of technical details (height, width, depth) and the supporting financials.

You are obfuscating and using a false equivalence - I despise the losers among the groups you listed - I respect those that deserve respect. Blind patriotism and jingoism is a sign of low intelligence. Reality doesn't sit in two foundations, one "all (insert job of hero) are good, OR, all (insert job of loser) are bad....". The truth is somewhere in between but in the conservatives rush to have patriotic priapism every time somebody shows a picture of the flag or an angry looking bald eagle you lose all credibility. The lack of critical and rational thinking among conservatives is astonishing. And yes, some liberals are equally myopic but my experience is that you are more likely to get a reasoned and thoughtful response from liberals. It is simply a matter of intelligence and education.

Most of the educated higher income republicans I know are conservative because they want to pay less taxes. Fair enough. But the average nutter with a HS education and a left of the bell curve center IQ are motivated by hatred of anyone that isn't white, Christian, doesn't own a gun, or have a va- jay jay, or is gay.

Ok. I will support building a wall by using a tax increase on everyone who makes more than $300k per year. OR, you can opt for a higher tax rate by checking off a box on your tax return. But please get back to me when you can't find any fruits or vegetables in the super market.
