These are not professionals and even they take some down time.
"Overuse" .... the mostly abused term in youth medicine that means "yeah, not sure what caused it". Has a comprehensive study ever been done that compares single-sport athletes that play 10 months a year to multi-sport athletes that play 10 months a year at the same levels? If you are always running, jumping, cutting, and getting bumped around, you run the risk of more injury vs peers who do less or substantially less. I am still not buying this recent phenomenon without credible scientific studies to back it (none of which I have seen yet). Citations from credible sources only please.

I see Oakwood has caved in and next year, is offering a full compliment of B teams to generate cash for their boys academy teams:

PS - you can't say GDA isn't having an impact ... it is killing small clubs like OW .... wait until these loyalists get separated from MLS academies on the boy side .... what a slap in the face.

Just because they are running tryouts for all doesn't mean they can fill all. But there certainly are girls who want HS ball and NE GDA is a mess.

Anyone know the academy costs vs their NPL team costs? Do the NPL teams practice twice/week all winter long and three times/week in the spring?

Costs for both NPL and GDA are listed on the website

Thanks! Surprised they charge the same for GDA and NPL since the NPL only plays outdoor from late March through end of May.

DA clubs are supposed to make an effort in reducing fees for DA teams. Some do, some do not. OW does fund raise and takes sponsors.

Sure they do. It's more money in Rick and Dave's pockets.
