U12 Academy?

Is there a U12 Academy at BS? I see it listed on their website as that and have seen on their social media accounts they post about their U12 academy team, but thought U12 was done away with at the academy level. My son will be this age next year and was curious as to what they mean by academy there?

Beachside academy is not worth the money. Next year they will be U13 and will be "real" pre-academy. If your kid is academy level go to an MLS academy, otherwise stay at your current premier team. FYI Beachside Pre academy is a Premier level almost twice expensive...

There no longer is an official U12 academy group but most have some kind of "pre academy" playing in some kind of league. Don't be surprised if u13 goes away next year but they expand u16/u17 into two age groups.

Yes ideally if your kid is good enough get them to MLS. If they aren't or the commute isn't workable BS may or may not be the best option for you. If your player is still young focus on finding him the best coaching you can. If they have "it" and work hard they can pursue academy in a few years. A lot happens in middle school so don't go broke or drive yourself crazy yet

1) Season is far from over; now all the HS "waivered" kids come back
2) Now that MLS clubs are practically a separate entity, being in the tallest midget contest isn't something to brag about
3) How's the facility coming along, the one that families dumped money into?
