So your saying no girls on TA teams have ball skills? And you know this how, you drop in and watch TA games?

      That's because they know better.

I know on my older daughter's age group, the whole THUSC team fell a part going into hs. Many were basketball players and stopped playing club soccer, so of the few left some went to Westside or other clubs or other age groups etc. Every year there are changes. Just choose the team and coach that you think will be best for your child. Realize that the players/teams/clubs that you are playing and criticizing now may be on your kids team in the future, especially lots of changes in high school. As parents we need to always keep this in mind.

"Very sure. Nobody EVER moves to a TA club. EVER. Don't get wound up in your team. Teams change every year and are completely unrecognizable within 2-3 years."

There were a few 00's that left eastside and W..T...F..C, and went over to Salmon creek. But I guess they are playing in the OPL... never mind.

And Salmon Creek is not in the TA. But your point is well taken. Several top players from TA clubs Eastside and WashT LEFT those clubs to go to a non-TA club, and a club that is MUCH smaller than either of the clubs they left.

Well, we know nobody is moving to Westside because there entire girls program fell apart at the 02 age group. Now, their loud-mouth coach Jorge has moved to BSC. I wonder what he will do to that age group over there. BSC has a decent program that is producing some good teams, but how long will that last? If Jorge became my daughter's coach, that would be a deal-breaker. I'd rather take up an extra paper route to pay for a club transfer, than send my daughter to him. I don't like the way he yells or micro-manages his players. He is an awful man.

A lot of his WST moved over with him to BSC, so it doesn't sound like kids/parents think he is as bad as you do. He coaches the 2nd team and they won D1 title and Pres Cup this Fall, but you probably already knew that, so are you really wondering how he is doing or just trying to stir it up? Are you sure this isn't a personal problem? Or is this a poor attempt to try and recruit girls to your team?

and how many players from the "A"/Premier team did they have to bring down each week to win that D1 league and pres cup?

I am so tired of the win at all costs mentality at this age level! Is there any club/team that focuses on actually developing even if that means sacrificing the win?

Teams should not be brining "A" team players down to play with the "B" team just to win games. The only way that would be acceptable is if A team players aren't getting much playing time or B team needs more players and then it should be the bottom of the A roster not the top.

Actually, I didn't know he was coaching the 2nd team. I am an OPL parent, so I don't see BSC or any OYSA games. I just know what I have seen when my DD's team played against his teams in the past. And you can't deny his sideline behavior is, well, let's call it "spirited."

If he is such a great coach, then why didn't he keep more of his players? I know he lost several to amongst many clubs.

This is not an attempt to recruit players, but thanks. Our team is doing just fine. Jorge can keep his B team players to himself.

And I agree with the other poster, how many players from the "A"/Premier team did they have to bring down each week to win that D1 league and pres cup?

Wow, bitter 2nd place mommy. My post was more about defending someone, not bragging about B team titles. I doubt a D1 title was that big of concern to be moving down A team girls, Bsc isn't about U12 titles, more concerned w player dev. Plus Pres Cup rosters are frozen a couple weeks before the end of Fall league, so A team players can't come down without missing their last few league games. Get a life!

A team guest players on B teams

I don't think it's right to fill rosters of B teams with A team players unless it is necessary to keep teams rosters filled. If a B team has 13-14 players, that is enough. But when coaches bring in 5 guest players and top the roster off at 18, then it's a disservice to the B team players who are there to play, but get left on the bench.

There are lots of good reasons for moving kids up/down between A and B teams. Good development requires this flexibility to teach and test kids in situations that might not be possible on their regular team.

but that situation does not include taking the top 5 starters from the A team and having them play with the "B" team so they can get the W that week. While the bottom 5 on the "A" roster barely ever play and the the bottom 5 on the "B" roster sit that week as well.

Well considering a picture of the "winning" team is posted on BSC's web page it shouldn't be too hard to figure out who played and who didn't if anyone is that interested?!
