the people paying a fortune to have their dd play in the elite club league are very nervous about the Thorns Academy drawing players away, because the Academy is subsidized. The clubs participating in the elite club league should get sponsorships to cut the cost down and be competitive.

Competition is good. The elite club league is rolling is cash. Time to put them in check.

Last time I looked at their financials, the encl had hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank. Hopefully they put that to good use and subsidize players.

The core of the of the thorns (usonions) just left and went to play ECNL at FCP. WTH are you talking about? The thorns are losing players already.

They are working on getting subsidies. The costs are not the league, coaching, it's traveling. That is why Thorns are cheaper, they don't really do anything except a few matches in FWRL.

Sorry for the nut jobs hi-jacking this thread for the same old re-hash of ECNL chatter, but our dd's, some of the better players, will be playing ECNL at U14. Lies need to be nipped in the bud right now.

Two players went and one is good, the other ones best days were two years ago. Maybe three. Unfortunately for the good player, FCPs best player plays her position.

They have about $50 in the bank for each player in the league. If you think that will make a difference...

Unfortunately for the good player, FCPs best player plays her position.

The idea that 13 year olds are being pigeon holed into positions that specific is revolting.

"Sorry, that player is awesome, but we already have another 13 year old girl who can only play as an inverted winger on the left."

I am sure the coaches are not stupid enough to see it that way.

That the Oregon teams really aren't all that good. Look at the G01s. The very best Oregon G01 team, that wins all the time and are multiple league champions, barely crack the top 75 on the west coast. I'm sure it's the same or worse for the G02s.

Only the G01 rankings include all teams in Region IV. The G02 includes just a small smattering of teams from outside OR/WA. If all were included, especially the SoCal teams, you'd see the top Oregon G02 team down around place 100.
