Sherwood attacks very well and in groups, not just one scoring threat but a few.

    Sherwood 5, Wilsonville 2.

Sherwood has 3 or 4 Ireland players, and 1 good forward from FCPortland. They should do very well in league and I imagine be tested deeply only by other teams with as many good club players as they have.
Thanks for the recap! My daughter plays for Sandy and we play Wilsonville tonight. Unlinke Sherwood, we are not deep with club players so we aren't exactly the soccer powerhouse :). The girls work hard though and when we are not playing teams like Sherwood we can sometimes make something happen. Good luck to both teams tonight and lets hope they stay injury free and have fun!

That is disgraceful. How the hell do you break a kid's collar bone in soccer ?

The other coach should get fired or some players suspended.

It's more common than you think. 2 years ago at a tournament, one of my kid's teammates went up for a header and collided with the other player. He fell pretty hard and broke his collar bone. Thankfully, he healed quickly enough to come back by the end of the season

Any number of ways. It's a pretty common sports injury.

The McMinnville player hit her directly from behind while she was shielding a ball around mid-field 10 seconds into the game.

That is pretty cheap if she was hit from behind as indicated by previous poster.

Typical cheap play where a no talent player (team) trying to take out a good soccer player.

Same player got a yellow card later in the game. You have to wonder as it was literally the first 30 seconds of the game what the motive was. 3 other Tualatin players were hurt during the same game.

They did manage to pull out a 6-0 win with several different girls scoring. But the team isn't the same without her. She deserves to be there as much as everyone else and its beyond unfortunate that this would happen.

This is the major risk with our HS Soccer Program. Good Players become the target of less skilled players need to use their bodies as weapon (when they can not match the skills).

                  It could have been worse.

We have Club players spread across the schools. I am all for the DA programs coming in and taking our better players out of this mess. It will take a couple of years for the girls but there is hope.

I believe at least 2 of the 3 sustained injuries not related to contact with an opposing player (pulled hamstring and twisted knee or ankle).

Its that time of year where in a league like Tualatin is in, the girls can sometimes get complacent and a lil too relaxed from playing lighter skilled teams. They arent on as tight of an edge.

I heard a Sherwood top player was injured badly a few weeks ago. It was another wreckless play from behind. She was taken to the hospital and still is not able to play. NOn-skilled players against skilled players is just a bad idea. The unskilled players think the best way to counter is to play more aggressive. At high school level the thugs from some of the lower level club teams can even make varsity.

Are you seriously blaming the injury on the injured???

Are you really blaming the injured for their injuries? What is wrong with you?

Sorry posted this to the wrong thread.. This was for the guy that said Tualatin wasn't tight. Whatever the hell that means.

Some high schools are made up of predominately non club players. I don't think the players intend to hurt others but in an effort to keep up and to stop the other players they often commit ridiculous fouls. I am so sorry to hear about these players getting hurt.
