You could then name them anything you want and compete with a valid roster and valid permission to travel.

This team and these girls did nothing wrong. Anyone can do this and it's not a new trick either. It will be a great experience for all the players, something they will never forget so just leave them alone. Instead of being jealous make your own special state cup team next year. It's a great way to compete with the premier teams for a one time event.
Coach did a great job and my kid dosen't play for either of the teams!! GREAT JOB COACH ON FINDING A WAY TO WIN!!

Correct me if Im wrong, but This dispute has nothing To do with taking away a deserved win but everything to do with the fact that people involved havebeen betrayed. It's an ethical issue not a soccer ri rule issue.... that's why the heated discussions...just MO!

Not wrong at all. Portsmouth definitely has the best GU12 team in the 8v8 division, those girls are great. They deserve the respect they've earned, regardless of how they were brought together. It's the adults surrounding that team that are suspect and in question. Goes from the President to the coach to the parents. They don't like the criticism but they brought it on themselves.

You obviously have never been to the regionals. Not only do you need a team gpood enough to win here, that is 1/2 the battle. But you need a team good enough to make a good showing there. That Portsmouth team is a great team but they would have been trounced at the regionals and it could have been just as bad an experience as it is a good one. They are built to represent in PA and for a RI team that's all we can ask for.

I'm confused. Is this the same Portsmouth U12 girls team that playes in the boys Classic gold division of Superliga, and is 7-0 against those boys teams. Because if they are, I think there is no doubt they would have beaten any u12 girls team in RI, even without the few SSS players.

Ok mommy. Superligari is a joke. Even against boys. They won because of # 12. PERIOD !!!!!!!!!

If "Superlinari is a joke" then what does that make the premier clubs in RI??? Portsmouth basically destroyed all those "premier" teams.

agreed-and the other two SSS players had nothing to do with them winning.-they didn't need the others to win-12 is an original Portsmouth player-.not added.

I have a great idea. Why don't the two teams set up a game. Portsmouth with their roster without the south shore girls. And bayside with their normal roster. And keep all of the parents home. Then everyone could STFU

Sort of.. here's the rule -

Each U12 Small Sided team must demonstrate continuity of rosters between the league and
cup by maintaining a minimum of 7 players common to the rosters of both competitions

I suppose in 8 v 8 with being allowed 5 transfers, having to have only 7 players on your league team, and having MA not play in U12 State Cup, that bracket is the closest you can get to making an "all-star" team. The problem as was indicated is if you are carrying more for your league play, then some of those kids get bumped or sit (14 max roster).

I know she is from Portsmouth. But not on their roster. She plays for SSS. Both teams play in maple. Portsmouth in the weakest division which is the equivalent to superligari. And SSS is in one of the higher divisions.

Then why add players and disrupt parents and kids playing time if they are so good? You keep posting and you keep making it worse. Just stop and say yes we needed the extra girls because we wanted to make sure we won. An insurance policy is probably the words that were used in your secret meetings between, Napolean, the town coach that betrayed his team and the woman taking down all the stats on the sidelines. I guess she needs to keep track of how many goals 12 scored.

Again, good luck because it's really about the kids but know that your parents were betrayed by all the above that was mentioned. Unethical decisions made for the purpose of coaches egos. When you get old you can tell the grand kids what you did when you were younger.

We can keep going if you want, keep posting and we will keep telling people what we know. Amazing what Portsmouth people tell others and they are all embarrassed at what you have done.

Which Bayside team are we talking up, the u12s who couldn't score a goal on anybody or the u11s? Either way the outcome would not change except the kids might have more fun without their parents embarrassing them and themselves.

Who cares? It's 8 v. 8 Little league soccer. The whole thing gets blown up once you get to the big field. When you're ready to compete in 11 v. 11, aka real soccer, come talk to me.

wow, this thread has reached 100 pages of pettiness. This poster has a great idea that coaches may want to consider (or not...), and then you can all get back to your lives outside of u12 soccer.
