They have done a team lunch/dinner for every single tournament this team has ever done. Fact. They even did a team building event while in Connecticut in June. Girls had a blast.

And if a kid is truly not happy why would their parent force them to continue to play on the team??

I have asked my daughter recently and she said she is having fun and really likes the girls and coaches.

It boils down to 3 things.

      1. The team was picked and continues to be picked without the benefit of fair and open tryouts.

      2. At this point in his career, RF is just in it for the $$. He has checked out and has turned control over to BB.

      3. BB. There is no place for a dad coach at this level when parents are spending several thousand dollars.

That’s it. Nothing more. Nothing less. Maybe the girls are happy. Maybe they aren’t. But the fact is people won’t come from other clubs as long as the 3 things above remain. And unless they are fixed this team will fold. 15 isn’t sustainable. We are at 14 with a major injury. It’s not sustainable and trust me when I say NO ONE worthwhile from outside this club is joining this team.

I have an issue with your point #1 and your last sentence. If no one is coming out to tryouts or no one worthwhile as you say, then your point #1 makes 0 sense. How would you know the team “continues to be picked” if there is no one worthwhile coming? Wouldn’t they be forced to just keep the same team then?

Personally I don’t think a coach is in it for the money. Coaches aren’t getting paid much $
Yes the manager/asst coach is a dad.
If he bothers you being a dad asst coach that much then go to a club where that’s not allowed.

Lastly it’s soccer....Let her have fun. And if she isn’t, move her to a place where she will.

If the coach isn't in it for the money, and is in it for the coaching, then the club should move him to another age group. Let BB coach, but not his own kid. If he is a quality coach then the club could use him. Also, kids can go back to CRUSA for fun, we are spending 3 times that amount to play high-level ECNL and the team is being run like we are still playing in PAGS. Have fun yes, but at least have fun while being coach by a quality coach that doesn't have a child on the team. This is not normal!

Why did you leave pda? I guess it was horrible there too.

I have one simple question for the bucks defender - do you believe the team is on a sustainable path?

Bucks will most likely always field an ECNL team - but will the team remain competitive with the path that it is on? And will your daughter still be having “a lot of fun” when the team starts to limp along - barley having enough players to field a team, traveling hours to get beat and generally just existing, but not competing.

Do you really think the team as it is now will attract the type of talent it needs to be competitive? And will it be able to keep its existing players?

Maybe the poster you bash is just looking ahead for the good of all our daughters. Did you ever look at it like that? The writing is on the wall as many people have warned. It’s not rocket science to see, if changes aren’t made this team will never stay competitive.

I’m not being combative just looking at all angles.

I’m not a Bucks defender. If change occurs or doesn’t I’m fine either way. If the team “falls apart” like you are suggesting it might, then we’ll go to another club. Pretty easy; No hard feelings. And if we do leave I won’t bash my old club like a toddler on our way out either. We’ll just move on because at the end of the day it’s just soccer. There’s plenty of teams out there.

I do think this team will be competitive and they’ll gain a few more players through the years but if not that’s ok too. Maybe current parents will be turned off by the few parents on here and decide to leave. I wouldn’t blame them as the few parents on this team (this thread) has personally turned me off. I’m a fan of the club and the coaches on this particular team but NOT a fan of a few of the parents. I would consider leaving because of these parents NOT the club or coaches (just to be perfectly clear).

Thanks for the answer. I do like hearing other points of view. It’s a shame that you are so turned off by this thread you would consider leaving. Honestly, and not trying to be mean, but why don’t you just stop reading? What you don’t know won’t bother you. I really do appreciate your answer and it does give me some things to think about. Thanks!
