Every team always has a spot for very talented kids. The trick is how THEY perceive your kid after a workout or two. Sorry, your opinion does t matter anymore and you should change your perception if a few different clubs give you the same answer.

Why? Why wouldn’t you leave a spot open to see what players may become available over the summer.

Because a lot of these teams, especially at the ECNL level, have more high end players looking for spots than there are spots available. Can’t always turn away an 8/10 because you are hoping a 9/10+ shows up.

PS - this is not the end of the world ulittle parents. Just the start of a new and different chapter that can be very beneficial to your kids development.

This is the age many kids drop out or take a step back. They decide they're not as interested in it and like something else more. The pressure ramps up about recruiting too. there's much more the attitude "why do it unless you want to play in college?" Well, not everyone does but there's typically gar fewer options for HS aged kids vs younger teams.

Not really. A lot of the better talent is already known. With already full rosters they're not going to add unless the kid is a stud starter. How many of those are hiding somewhere? There's plenty of players 16-22, few 1-5.

Hope springs eternal for ECNL Blue Dad. Team is being blown up and reconstituted (according to word on the street) yet it is a lock to be top of the list... checks calendar... next spring.
