If I understand, mostly those systems often use transfer fees, (with trickle-down to developing youth clubs) to help fund a broad base...
Not to say it couldn’t be done here, but reminding that conditions are different where pro-rel works.
Personally, I agree MLS teams should have to field or affiliate a D2 team, as is currently the case with USL. I’d suggest that a U23 DA level should be the next requirement - hopefully a D3 or D4 league (as well as a development showcase for Olympic squads) could evolve out of that.
Don’t get me started on NCAA either....
... And at least on the Men’s side there is a D1 league well-established - Women’s is another thing -

Competition makes for the best development.
Kids changing, not able to keep up the pace. Others growing into their skills. Everyone else but the duffusses on this site understand puberty changes kids a lot. Some for better, some for worse athletically and mentally.
The only MLS team in NE would be idiots if they didn't choose the top kids every time over trying to develop your slow kid.

Not so for fully funded MLS DA. No Waivers. Ever more. You made your choice. Be happy and stop your pouting.

You can't possibly have a good DA team with 1/2 the team absent for 1/2 he year, then showing up with dismal habits in the spring. That's totally rooky and the pay to play DAs can get away with it because they can keep the second and sometimes a third NPL string.

HS is finished in November, not March so you are exaggerating quite a bit.
No MLS DA gives waivers. It's another elitist absurd concept that holds soccer development back by the pushy eliti$t have$ vs real talent.

just do your research. Your kid may again regain competitive status if he trains hard enough but others have simply surpassed him by catching up with their biological clock. Be happy where you are. Stop begrudging others
