What an absolute travesty the NE Revs Academy is. Any MLS Academy with a clue should be able to beat a pay-to-play DA club. I'm sure the parents will circle the wagons and entertain us with a virtul cornucopia of excuses. Spare us. You need to do a deep dive on the actual problems with the Revs. Be honest with yourselves. The soccer community has already determined that the Revs turn out very few quality players. Look at the college commitments thread. The bloom is off the rose. Peacock all you like. We're laughing at you. Everyone but you knows the real deal.

Have you noticed that the Bolts are very slow at posting scores when they've LOST the match?

Here are the MA players from the Revs that are committed to a college:

        Andrew Chisolm, Bayside Bolts, PC
        Ryan Clare, Wellesley, Princeton
        Connor Haskell, GPS, Xavier
        Ohad Yahalom, Revs, Dartmouth

That's not very impressive. What about the other 7 MA players?

It's odd that Chisolm, Clare and Haskell didn't mention the Revs in their announcements.

None great for soccer but parents would give an appendage for their kids to go to Dartmouth and Princeton. For most families it's not about the soccer, it's about the school.

Dartmouth and Princeton don't take players that don't already have the grades.

The difference is that the non Ivy D1 schools (with a sort of exception for Stanford, the service academies and the Patriot schools) cede direct control over a certain number of admissions slots to the athletic department. In that circumstance, as long as the recruit meets certain objective benchmarks (which may or may not be higher than the NCAA minimum standards for eligibility) the recruit is admitted, no further action required. In the Ivy, while the athletic department is given a number of spots they can use to support recruits who meet defined academic benchmarks, the admissions department still makes the final decision on who will be admitted. It is a huge difference that is very often misunderstood here.

Revs staff has finally seen through the hype and posturing.

How much does Revs cost again?

The games this weekend just show that the top 40 players in MA are interchangeable. There may be a handful outside DA, so let’s say top 50. No outstanding players, except maybe the Revs U15 goalie.

At least with respect to the Wellesley kid, its because he had committed to Princeton before he ever joined the Revs. He played for the Bolts the prior seasons then played for Wellesley high in the fall. Cant blame the Revs for promoting the commitment, but they didn't have anything do with it.

I wish he didn't let in 3 goals against a Bolts team with 23 goals in 22 games.

                              U15 Team:

Outstanding goalie = 1.50 Goals Against Average

                              2nd goalie = 1.26 Goals Against Average

I agreed with everything the Revs goalie dad says here, until he shamelessly plugged his kid.
