Your kid may want to have fun in HS soccer and that's his preference, but to play with the best talent, you got to make sacrifices.
There are only 7 seniors in the 19s. 2 went pro, 3 to Ivy's and the others to D1 schools.
You people have no idea of what it's like to play at that level.

Combine the best players of both those two NPL teams and would be without a doubt have an excellent team. You throw in the Bolts Academy which beat the Revs 4-2. Enough said.

My son is being recruited for both track and soccer at this point. That wouldn't be possible at the Revs. He's also volunteering and participating in STEM related activities that would not be possible at the Revs. While the Revs claim to build more well rounded soccer players, colleges are looking for more well rounded students. You're doing your child a disservice by monopolizing his time with the Revs commitment.

I have a senior this year (not my soccer player), who participated in a lot of extra activities. It is necessary to do so for college admittance. Your "soccer" commitments won't allow you to stand out unless we are talking the very top of pack (ie someone being heavily recruited by D1's). The colleges won't be looking at the fact that you played soccer 12 months out of the year and traveled to this particular tourney when you were a sophomore, etc. They will be looking to see what else you did with your four year HS experience. I have no experience with Revs so this is not club specific... maybe Rev's training is relatively local for you and it works for you. That's great. I'm just saying in general... Make sure that you student athlete is well-rounded outside of the soccer field.
I think you should worry about your own choices and not those made by others. Everyone’s situation is different.

2) Plenty of DA but non-Revs parents as well - are they not allowed to participate on this thread? Is there a rule about participants only can post on this thread? Too bad.
3) #2 holds for families considering the Revs or DA. This thread and others are very helpful for families making decisions about participating in the league or specific clubs
