This is for the sake of argument only, interesting in how to get quality coaches paid.

      You sound like Sean spicer.

Basic fees are everything that's required - tuition, uniforms, travel to/from practices ( average drive is about an hour and fuel costs/wear & tear add up quickly) etc..

I said cost of each showcase is between $1-2k .

In all my years I've met roughly 8 people that were happy with the Revs. Most there can afford any fee that any team threw at them. It's not about the money. Their kids don't get what they should out of the program. After the first 6 month honeymoon where they get to pump their tires about playing for the Revs the world starts to unravel. Free isn't always what it is cracked up to be. That's a lot of driving for your kid to be miserable and disenchanted with soccer.

Our family never got sucked in by the whole RDS puppy-mill. I guess I saved enough money there to make Bolts seem like a perfectly good value.
Yes. Unless your kid is "going pro" ( in reality "going Phoenix U" because mom is nuts) it's an easy choice.

Obviously heading to Spain wasn't required. Can I delete that from your computation? We live really close to our practice facility and we carpool so I don't really have much out of pocket or deprectiation of my vehicle. Uniforms were part of my sub $3,000 fee. I'm really struggling to crack $4,500 at this point. That's all in. My kid plays all the time. Things are working out well. It's cheaper than GPS.

            What's stopping that today?

What's the incentive, at least from a private sponsorship?

Can I ask, what age is this?

Seacoast parent here. We drive up to Epping and fee was 2,700, this season plus home, away, training uniforms were around 300 with the Nike jacket and backpack. we send our son to Brighton last summer which was 4,000 for two weeks, and next year there will likely be another trip to England, and I can't see sending him again although it is expected.

Comprehension issues? Europe is not part of the computation. If your kid was not invited to either of the showcases ( which if true is not reassuring about your kids importance to the team) and you drive about an hour (no carpooling) , it costs about 4K

Throw in the two showcases - add another 3k

I'm done here. The point is bolts DAP is pay to play while revs and seacoast are essentially free.

Dap seacoast is about $1.5k for us - travel cost and uniforms included

it was never "expected" to go to Brighton. the owner is pretty cool about it.

Pay to brag. Kids are in DA for college and parental bragging rights. USNT is not an issue. Part of the reason why US soccer is so behind. Even the Revs don't care. They just hosed 2 NT players. Couldn't care less.

                          Who funds the farms?

                          Adidas funds the Revs.
                          Nike funds the US NT

look at the soccer shirts teams wear. Not rocket science, tho the kids at the DA aspire to be rocket scientists and not Pro therein lies the conundrum.

they have to set an example to the others...like ISIS in Mosul.

You were "done" long before now. We traveled to NC by car. We didn't go to FL. Maybe you should be a bit more frugal when it comes to travel. The showcase cost me less than $900.
