The U13 and U14 teams both have issues and, though for different reasons, their midfields are a mess. Maybe this a general Revs approach especially when you have a college coach coaching the future of US soccer.

I remember from some of the video, the u13(last year?)Valeo central mid was very good, good vision and very good long range pass. It is actually rare for his age. Why didn't NE Revs pick him?

He should have played academy, but on the other hand, he was probably smart to pass. He really helped orchestrate the game like a fine-tuned machine.

Coaches definitely have the most skilled boys starting at mid on both teams, give it some time.

This isn't meant to be a dig at the Rev's or their players. I think that Rev's DAP is a great opportunity for those that play.

That being said, you can't ask me to believe that DAP kids play at a much higher level than many of the local club and yes, some travel teams play. I'm aware that there are a few of the regions top players on these teams and they can be difference makers on their own. The majority of the players are very good players, no better than you will find on the competitive teams scattered throughout the state.

All of these leagues with teams full of "all star" players just separate the talent and create different pathways to the next level, some easier, some more difficult. With a few exceptions, they are not creating better players, just providing more exposure.

Given how the Revs "develop" (or not) passing may have been the best thing ever - assuming he's still playing on a quality non DA team. There's a lot of churn at the Revs and they have no problem cutting players for new ones. Time to join is U15 or so. If you're good the Revs will happily take you.

If the Revs planned to develop each player to his highest potential, then it would be the place to be. If you are one of the very very few that they think will be pro, you might improve enough to have a chance. If not, there is no way in hell that the training they provide will even keep players up with other academies. If your kid is sitting or even playing a 'role' position, know that this is it. It will not get better. The coaches will not notice you. If playing a role gets you on a college team down the road, great! But remember who your competition is. Scouts swarm FC Dallas games. The Revs, not so much. It's too bad because the Revs are sitting on slot of talent.

Revs ain't all that, even for the anointed ones. Compare what they've turned out vs many other MLS clubs. Virtually no pro path success, many in college on decent but not great rosters and even fewer playing significantly. Problem is, without management caring it's never going to change.

Why should Kraft shell out millions to satisfy the overblown egos of a few delusional Revs parents? So silly. He is a shrewd business man. Think $$$ and it will make more sense to you. He understands that MLS in the area is not a hot ticket--though might be if it were the downtown Boston area but that would require a substantial investment and simply is not worth it. He also understands the demographics for soccer viewers and the sport generally are continually improving and therefor the value of the franchise will continue to go up. Wait a decade and dump a mediocre franchise for a tidy profit. Rest assured your ego is NOT part of the equation.
