There are 2 from NE now in Seattle. If you are in the DA system and Seattle comes knocking it would be really hard for a kid to say no. This is a very early new trend but obviously anyone playing for Seattle would be an asset to the Revs. I think barely 3-4 years ago this would never happen. 5-6 years ago I think no one said no to the Revs. Feel like more people are saying no.

Bolts, Valeo et al need to out coach the Revs to keep their players. If they can then offer their players a jumping point to Seattle or LA or NY or Philly.....think of how that will impact the Revs if they don't start to shift. The territory thing seriously might be the best thing for NE soccer development.

Can a Revs parent give us a breakdown of number of practices by age group? Just curious as someone mentioned the older age groups are moving to 4 days a week.

I think you underestimate the desire kids have to play for a real MLS club, especially those who don't have a European passport. Think of how many kids are willing to come from all over the country (plus international students) to prestigious boarding schools on the East coast. I don't think kids in this region are that much different and many that are putting everything into soccer would have no problem moving to an MLS program across the country that has its act together, especially when looking at Revs as an alternative. Those two former Seacoast players are crushing it in Seattle and I would think there are quite a few more from this area that could have similar impacts given the chance. The residential academies are a great trend for both the DA and US Soccer, since they have a net over the entire country and the top players are going to start gravitating to those clubs. I'd predict in another 5-10 years, that most of the YNT players will come out of residential academies.

lol. They've supposed to have been practicing 4 days/week for the last ten years. If they do finally go that route (big IF) it will only be because USSF forced their hand.

How are those "shuttles" to help out the inner city/under served families going? Guessing they never put those into place.

Older kids are getting some sessions on Monday I hear. But ULittles still only 3. Nobody is going anywhere from Revs aka Foxborough Town Travel Soccer, and you can't get scouted to another REAL MLS academy team if you're on Revs. So smart parents turn them down.

Please NO 4 days per week. 3 days is way better for development. 2 would be perfect.

Yeah, $30k per year and a $5k signing bonus is a great reason to forego college.

So clueless. We are talking about DA not professional. Better DA equals better college. Keep up.

Ha! Better DA would NOT be Revs. Read the article on NESJ. Not a single word of truth came out of Scales mouth.

One kid bunking with a teammate does not a residency program make. . .

NESJ talking about how awesome the u15 Bolts team is....slaying it on the pitch. First age group to no longer be dazzled by Revs “just cause”.

My kid is at the Revs. The fact that the Bolts are ahead of us means the management and coaches have to go. Something is rotten in the state of Foxboro.
