(just want to throw this in also. Take a lesson from Bill Belichick on how dangerous pride can be. I'm guessing it was some prideful reason that he left Malcolm Butler out of last years Superbowl game (if there was a legit reason, we certainly would have heard it by now). Butler sat. Fans fumed. The Pats lost. Belichick has lost his team because they fought all year just to have their coach pull the rug from them in the most important game of the year. They should have been coming into this year looking for ring #7, instead, because of his pride, Belichick and his legacy are about to take a huge hit and bring the fans of Foxboro right back to the hard reality of incompetence land where the Revs have dwelled for too many years now.)
rant over.

A long run in the playoffs would probably only be too costly b/c it's not like attendance would jump if they won the MLS Cup or Supporters Shield. Same with the academy teams - if they went deep in the playoffs or GA Cup that's just more plane rides to pay for.
The new training facility will be nice, I suppose, though that means no soccer-specific stadium anywhere. I can't see how a few fields and a building on land already owned by the Krafts totals up to $35m but whatever. The bummer is that I'd watch the Revs in a decent stadium with atmosphere like many if not most of the other MLS teams have managed to put together. It's more fun to watch Portland fans go nuts than to sit the empty feeling of Gillette even if there are 20 thousand people there. Seeing the gridiron lines is a nice throwback look though.

Don't get me started on the &^%% fields. What idiots in this NE rut to not build at least one indoor or domed training facility. Cancel, cancel cancel training... for $36M, they could have one indoor/dome. They are all numbnuts throwing bad money after bad.

A divisional team with a very harsh climate to the north signs two homegrowns with 3 year contracts for 2019. Scales adds 2 orange cones for the academy in 2019.

Bottom line, one true Homegrown (Zach Herivaux, who plays for Haiti) in 13 years!!
Nice job Scales!!
