The risk with the Revs is much higher. You are a favorite today, but tomorrow, you are on the bench after sitting in the car all week in traffic trying to get to subpar practice in the dome on half the field. Plus, you have to deal with kiss-arses, who pretend they love the Revs, just to get playing time.

Kid is pursuing something he wants, gaining great experience soccer wise and personally. Even if it doesn't work out he tried and will still find a good place to play here. Others call it crazy, I call it ballsie. But I don't like living with regrets of not trying something - you can learn as much, sometimes even more so, in failures as successes.

OMG.... This obsession over other kids is beyond silly. Let it go already. Every kid is different and only the parent knows what is best for "THEIR" kid, not you. I'm certain you do things with you parenting that others would deem odd or wrong. I highly doubt the parent is pushing this kid to go to Europe. I personally think it's a great opportunity and experience. Good for him. Most kids would jump at the opportunity he has been given. Will it work out, who knows. Wish him luck, rather than be a complete d-bag.
Criticize the club all you want, not the kids. Most kids will take the chance in playing for the Revs. Some won't for "THEIR" own reasons. My kid did play on the Revs. It had it's ups and downs. Just like club soccer prior to the Revs. It works for some and not for others, as with everything in life. It's what you make of it given and opportunity.
