no. your son does not play D1 soccer. Maybe he will try to walk on. But no, he is not a scholarship blue chip soccer player. Sorry he got cut from REVS OR more likely, was never even considered.

I promise you he does. Sorry to burst your bubble. Never would he ever play for Revs. Your kid is in recruiting purgatory if he’s at the Revs. Run away as fast as you can. Kids commit at other clubs and the Revs poach them. That’s the Revs way.

Not the poster, not a Revs fan, but I am hoping the new team turns things around. It would be good to have a thriving MLS club in the area to draw in more talent. Their recruiting has been let's call it "spotty" but this year's class is pretty solid with UCONN, PC, UVA, BC and Georgetown. The Bolts have a nice selection of academic schools, no real soccer powerhouses. Seacoast borders on pathetic. Plenty of private/ISL school kids landing at quality schools, few quality soccer programs. In the end that's what most families care about anyway.

For all the chest thumping the state doesn't produce much top talent so all the bragging like yours is pretty sad

Georgetown kid committed before he laced up for the Revs. That’s the pattern. The same thing happens every year.

Only Georgetown(#2) makes the United Soccer Coaches top 25.

Here are the Revs commit schools’ RPI ranks:

            Georgetown (2)

            Providence (67)

            Merrimack (71)

            Boston College (73)

            Virginia (75)

            UConn (163)

as opposed to all the D3 commits the Bolts have? Look at the list that person posted. Lots of good schools, almost no quality soccer programs

Yes they do that, averaging probably one a year. Certainly if they weren't in BDA/MLS their future college coach will push for them to move to prepare them better. Who was he with before?

Maybe now allowing prep school players will slow that practice. But last club will be how his player resume is posted on the Georgetown website. It's just how it works.

I have no problem with Georgetown listing the Revs as his previous club.

I do think parents in MA should know that the Revs misrepresent commits every single year.

They get called out on it every year so most in the small MA soccer world are aware. But who cares really? Literally every club does it and it won't change. Usually it's only one player out of 5-7 commits in total. The rest of the list is far more telling than the one outlier.

Actually the long list of uncommitted Revs players is far more telling.

Yes some years their list has been, um, anemic. I think one year they had three This? This year's is one of their better ones in terms of numbers. Don't forget about half the roster is juniors.

And no juniors are committed unlike other clubs.

What a raw deal those kids got when their parents dragged them off to Portugal. Way to ruin their futures in one easy step. It's a sad commentary on delusional soccer parenting.
