lol odds of a MA player making a go of it in the pros, earning anything decent? there may not be much money for college soccer but if you're almost, maybe, possible good enough to go pro and target well you could get some decent money. Have good grades you can parlay that into some decent merit money also. You certainly can get some $$$ for playing for a quality prep school.

What I’m paying per year for my son to play soccer at school comes nowhere near half of your $80,000 number. That’s some preposterous nonsense you’re spewing. We could pay $80,000, but I’m very happily paying far less.

Do you actually think for one minute that Rivera, Fujiwara or Buck ( whatever their names are) will go pro? They opted out of college and got duped by the Revs staff to play it out with their ridiculous Revs 2 team? sad actually... poor families!

Plenty of folks A. make a lot of money without a college degree, and B. who says they can't go back to school at anytime.

They can't use soccer to get themselves into a school they normally wouldn't qualify for academically.
They can't use soccer to defray the cost of college.
Going "pro" first is almost always counterproductive. Use your talent to get into a good school, maybe even get some scholarship money. Grow, develop, lift in the gym, get stronger and THEN go pro. If you're good enough to go pro at 17 why wouldn't you still be at 20? Toiling away in Foxboro or the lower leagues sure hasn't been the magic formula for 99% of the homegrowns.
