Is it safe to safe that there are some RL players who can play NL but maybe stuck on RL due to roster sizes? I have seen RL players move to NL and NL players move to RL. I have also seen some questionable players on NL teams.

Ehh usually the bottom 4 nl and top 4 rl are interchangeable. Depends on the team but something like that. Tough for Rl players to move up and make an impact of get significant playing time. The speed of play, strength and size typically are the issue

Then you must live in a dark area of the country. The starters in NL are clear away better the rest aren’t. You will understand if you get a YNT invite.

These messages are god awful.

I've always hated fellow sports parents, this has been 254 pages of reinforcement. I feel sorry for so many of your children. The weight of your mediocre hopes and dreams is going to crush them when the reality hits that there is always someone better. Maybe spend less time sweating your kids athletic abilities, and get them to hit the books.
Your post caught my eye for the “Star Wars” reference but your lack of knowledge is frankly is Aunt Beru-level - I’m sorry for you; have some blue milk. Yes youth soccer politics sucks and literally everyone you know will just graduate and hang up their Adidas CrazyFast boots up next to your Copa’s come senior year. I’m here to remind you of that. The empire will not strike back. There is no New Hope and you are not the Last Jedi. You don’t live in Connecticut. You live in Mass.

They should be complaining. That is not what exists now as BY does not put Q4 players grade appropriate. Any 12 month span will have RAE which changes the tide of the youngest players substantially over time. Current Q4 players deal with RAE plus inappropriate grade placement which causes a host of other issues.

So take the issue and give it to someone else. As long as it doesn’t affect you. Pretty typical of the average ulittle soccer parent. Playing with your grade means jack to the players in a top level club environment. Recruiting is not effected other than a parents perception.

Trapped players are impacted during recruiting. Why can’t you get that through your head? The heads of the ECNL also agree it is affected. Just because you are now affected slightly is meaningless.

Has anyone's club in MA started talking about potential plans if it is passed in November? (which if the rumors are true, it sounds like it will be) We haven't heard anything yet, but I'm assuming they're waiting until an official announcement. We have heard parents mentioning it, but not coaches or club officials.

Yes our Mass club told us a decision is coming and the club is prepared to handle one way or another. We were also asked for players graduation years.

Just what issue is being given to someone else? SY solves the issues. You are show how little you know. Clubs like Stars have nearly all ECNL players of high school age playing age appropriate. Once the new age cutoffs come into play, you can bet they adjust teams accordingly. Like it or not, school year solves an issue for them too.

The issue is you q4 rl parents want to not be the youngest. Someone is always the youngest. It literally has no impact on either of my kids. My kids both have and can play up a year and handle their business. My point is the selfishness on display here by specifically q4 ulittle rl parents is disgraceful

Q4 parents are selfish and disgraceful for not wanting their child trapped in 8th grade and junior year? It has never been about RAE as you get that no matter where the cut off lies. It’s about fixing trapped player issue mainly in high school.

Calendar birth year is a weird cut off. SY makes more sense. There is a reason they are talking about moving it.

Doesn't matter what the q1 q2 q3 q4 parents want or don't want, it's happening. The decision makers are not reading your rants. Just accept it and prepare for it.

Instead of focusing on if and whether, the discussion should be when and how.
                                When?
As early as spring or as late as fall?

                                How?
All Aug to Dec players (NL + RL) get placed on national teams?
What about those NL players who refuse to be placed on their grade level NL teams because they think they will be playing "down"?
If they are allowed to stay on the older grade team, what happens to them later when they have the problems the change is trying to mitigate?
