Not a bad idea actually, but do you honestly expect ECNL coaches to administer the camp?

It's a dumb idea. Who will pay for that? If sponsers were interested in supporting high level girls soccer, they already would. Short of that...don't see anyone else stepping up to pay for that.

Don't see ussf investing money in gda. If that was the idea, they would have already done it.

In an effort to differentiate themselves, they should establish conference select teams at the end of the season (top 30 players from the NE Conference as example) and have a month long residency camp in each region during the summer. The residency camp should be free of charge to the player. Top coaches should be hired to administer the camp.

Not a bad idea. With some creative thinking other ideas can be flushed out as well. ECNL should be the feeder to a truly elite, much smaller group of players. So few ever have the potential to reach the NT level so do we need another national league for 99.5% of the players who don't?

They put in some token $ but a lot of it went to staff. There's some toke $ for scholarships but they're few and far between. It's up to the clubs to bear the brunt of more scholarships or reducing fees. Then there's travel on top of that. Keep in mind USSF did this for a few reasons

- They had a valid concern about other nation's catching up to us. However, whether or not GDA was the best way to address is debatable.

- They hastily rolled out GDA in response to MNT lawsuits over equal treatment and pay.

- They've never liked ECNL and wanted control. If they could kill ECNL off or greatly reduce their power, win/win.

If they really cared about highest level soccer they would have done things differently. If they don't change it up soon GDA's fate is questionable.

I think they would - claiming to have access to the NT process will always be a marketing draw.

I think they are mistaken about the power of that. Not a major consideration. Ecnl used that for years and it didn't do much for them.

Or is the NE GDA dissolving? A lot of discontent in the NE and rumors NYCFC is packing it up.
