Idiots. OW is DA. They aren't developing players for D1. They are developing players for the NT. Expect 4 or 5 players from each OW team to go national. It's not about college, so those recruitments don't matter.

We’ve already told our local high school coach that even though our daughter is in 7th grade he shouldn’t expect to see her in two years. She’ll train in Portland with the other elite talent.
It’s not easy explaining this to our friends but when you have elite talent things are different

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostUs too. No high school soccer for our kid. It's like a track meet anyway, and she'd get hurt if one of those cloggers caught her unaware. Same with college, not doing that, either. National team then a lengthy professional career, starting and ending stateside but some overseas play in the middle.

Also, I'm a bit tired of paying for cleats. I'm considering asking Nike to just provide and advance on the shoe deal for these kids. They are going to pay it anyway so what's the harm of providing it a few years early.

And, yes, the cleats should be provided for free by a sponsor like Nike (or Adidas/Puma but not Diadora), because these GDA players are the future of USA women's national soccer and leagues.
