No. The Oakwood academy teams started training yesterday. They play now they Early Dec outdoor, then again late Feb through early June. During these seasons they train 3 times a week. Mid Dec they late Feb they do a light indoor schedule. All this for a lot less than it costs to play for FSA or cfc’s top teams. Never understood how they could be so much cheaper.

Plus raffle sales, strongly recommend camp, volunteer in snack shack, all about the same. And at fsa or CFC they don’t force kids to shovel snow by hand and make parents take down 5 hotdogs behind the dumpster

Only their oldet DA teams are substantially less. Ussf mandates clubs lower fees but not all do, so credit to OW for doing it. But it doesn't include costly travel, not only to DA events but also west coast and European boondoggles. They've owned their site forever (and it shows). Then there's fundraising and sponsorships.

Up through U15 it's now $2700 ..... still cheaper, I agree, but far more expensive than only 2 years ago .... for more age groups ..... Oakwood and USSF's strategy for cheaper soccer is being squeezed hard and their prices will continue to skyrocket at each club's expense. They basically discount tuition for their top two boys and girls teams and subsidize it with their younger teams (which, at about U12 or 13 and below are more expensive than FSA and CFC now). Cheers!

That's how most DA clubs do it and it's why smaller clubs will struggle. You need more volume to help pull off the subsidies and still keep hefty profit margins (even non profits have "profits"). MLS free to play clubs run camps and RDS to help pay for their teams.

I thought they were mandated to train 4 times a week?

It's a nice suggestion by USSF ..... OW have never done this for their boys either. They can't eat all of the cost mandated by US Soccer (field rentals and additional fees for coaches and I would bet insurance would go up with higher play amounts).

True it is not enforced. Most comply, some like OW and the Revs (yes, an MLS club) do not.

They've actually been training for weeks now. Just FYI.
