ECNL players are already attending captains practices/pre-season camps to get ready for their HS seasons. OW players are prepping for another season of mediocrity and no HS.

They have been going 3 or 4 times a week all summer and next week begin 5 or 6 days per week.

16 games for Ridgefield in Sept and Oct:
              http://stats.ciacsports.com/cgi-bin/schedule-1819.cgi?school=Ridgefield&sport=girls-soccer&levels=V&combine_time_results=1&show_bus_in fo=1&site=&starttoday=&today=&startmonth=&startday =&startyear=&endmonth=&endday=&endyear=&type=Game^ Scrimmage^Postseason

              13 games for OW U16/17 (and 3 more games on Dec 1, 2, and 4 in a 4-day period!):
              http://oakw.ussoccerda.com/sam/teams...p?team=3941380

No practices for Ridgefield on gamedays which are during the week but OW had 3 (other DA clubs 4). Stop using this tired over-use argument for HS soccer .... it doesn't hold water.

look at the schedule dummy .... doesnt include friendlies but does include tournaments for DA. 13! Lets assume that is the average. 8 weeks in sept and oct and a normal DA club will have 4 practices per week. 4x8 = 32 + 13 games = 45 soccer events. Our HS only plays or trains during the week (either a game or practice each of 5 weekdays). 5x8=40. Over two months, HS has one extra event per week and our team had a lot of low intensity practices before or after games. Is HS that much more abusive than DA? I think not.

How many games does the average college team play in 2 months? Do you think they train daily around that?

How many games does the average professional club play in 2 months, with all their competitions? Do you think they train daily around that?

The number of times you step on the pitch is not the issue. It's what you do when you step onto the pitch that matters.

I would like where OW, CFC and FSA incoming college freshmen for this year are committed to. I'm deciding if DA is worth it or not

You shouldn't chose anything based on college commits but what club, coaching and league is the best fit for your player. But if you must the summary is CFC has the best overall commitments; OW and FSA almost a tie but GDA "might" lift OW's boat slightly (only slightly because it's still all the same old NPL players and coaches they had before and no top players go there)

CFC is always maddeningly behind on posting on their website. Another poster may have a more complete list but you can start with this https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/sear...rtDirections=1

Hello, are you high? You are the entire problem here, all over this website, and in the youth environment.

Looking at club based on their commits? We are in CT/NE. The commits suck, digest that. You want good commits, go to Cali, or FLA or wherever they play 24/7/365 with a lot of kids from other places, not Glastonbury.

Youd be better off making sure your kid has a 4.0 with college prep and strong SATs, THEN, you think about commits. That is what drives the commits. There is no "scholarship cash" for boys.... its all academic, so your kid needs strong academics so they can get a boatload of free cash from that bucket to play.

Your (not yours specifically, just euphemastically) kid with a 2.2 gpa, crappy SATs, and incredible soccer isn't going to cut it unless you want to pay, and if you can pay, whats the difference of where they play, as long as they are strong and competent....

A coach has only XX dollars to split among 22 or so athletes (9.9 scholarships to be exact, not 10, not 9, and definitely not 18), so once the foreign kids eat half of those, and the real crazy ballers a couple more (maybe) there like 5 for the rest...). This is why they draft kids from the Preps, the Preps have strong academics, so they can get a bucket of cash academically and play at a high level for their sport. These kids backfill the void where the athletic scholarship cash runs out.

If, at this point, you are "thinking" about commits, means your kid is not on the radar of anywhere where a commit would be of any significance. You start working that stuff at u13, not u17.

I so hate seeing this shizzle.... ineptitude at its finest.
