Oakwood in their winless campaign last weekend managed to concede 27 goals while scoring 10.
Perhaps if they should be been tactically aware that if you cough up 27 goals it's pretty hard to win games.
You clowns think you have it all figured out.

getit getit get!!
who's a good boy? fetch!
there's those who want to control the game, and those who want to chase after it....

You need to develop these skills pre puberty because it's a lost cause afterwards.

Oakwood has traditionally produced robotic players that struggle to attack. Parents love it when they knock it around their own defensive third for 80% of the match. Trouble is one mistake and it's in the back of your own net. Apparently that happened 26 times down in FL.

Nor is chasing after a ball like a black lab on the beach.
"Wait, you meant to tell me we just spent 5 minutes chasing them all over and the first thing you do after we finally win it back is launch it downfield?"
Some like to play with the ball, and some like to run after it. If you are in the latter, be careful and look both ways before running into traffic.
Woof!

If that is the right way to fill our NT, then we truly are screwed

I'm not an OW Dad or Coach. I do coach against them often on the Ulittle level and I will tell you they don't care about winning. They want you to high press, they want you to step to the ball... it's how they get better. Being able to build under pressure is what it's all about and it's something we teach too.
We should all relax about results and put the kids in position to learn, to adapt, to share the ball and they will keep developing. Ultimately they may have barriers like strength on the ball, speed in open spaces, etc that may limit their ability to get to top levels. Generally it's the kids that check the box in all four quadrants that excel at the highest levels.
OW kids are max touching the ball, facing all different directions. They might get 100 touches on the ball (75% under pressure) where as if you are playing only to win and being direct... your flanks aren't touching the ball and your big kid up top is chasing after it. Not the best way to develop skill and soccer iq.
Okay now - carry on. I'm not a huge fan of OW but can appreciate what they are trying to do.
