Oakwood 02 girls are awful.

They only have a 3 ballers. Take even one out and they're in trouble. Don't be fooled by their ranking. That's more a function of how bad the NE is.

Frustrating but the NE location does make it difficult to sign on. all three showcases seem to be required and all are really far away - not even drivable if you wanted to. They are also lengthy and require fair number of missed school days. I think they could interest a lot more NE players if addressed the travel problem and the school problem.

That U17 roster has 23 on it, including 3 GK. Looks like 6 were not rostered for the 1 FL game played so far. Did they not go to FL at all? OW left 7 players in the full 90 minutes including the GK. Thats' not necessarily that different than other clubs but poking around it seems like other clubs do a better of getting the other players more showcase PT. 1 field player never saw the field. 3 got 30M or less; the rest between 45-60. I know DA substitution rules are not your friend but shouldn't it be better managed for showcases?

It should be if the club is acting in the best interest of the players.

I too had three ballers but went to the doctor to have one removed. much easier to walk now

OW nearly demands that all players travel with/as a team. I think so coaches can book all the flights and get all of the miles.

Again. I think if the league addressed the travel and school issue they could attract a lot more players. Other leagues are bad as well but that GDA burden is the heaviest.

Unless you live in CA or FL, then you have one easy one. the rest are paying big$ to get to events.

Exhausting and not worth it, even if you have a teenager who can drive and spouse who can also take time off of work. Driving to the west coast is also not an option.

Two more losses for OW today, 3-0 and 4-0. Club is 0-6-1 with 3 GS (1 an own goal), 14 GA. A close game but a loss with at least one goal scored is one thing. Nothing on the board is not a good look.

The strength of GDA is very regional. The Northeast conference, for whatever reason, is very poor. Top clubs in Northeast are in ECNL and their top talent stayed ECNL and avoided GDA. US Soccer needs to figure something out before the whole GDA experiment implodes. I have watched my daughters team win games by 7 goals in Northeast only to be exposed at National events. Time to get this fixed US Soccer or many of us are headed to ECNL clubs and high school soccer!
