If the IRS is looking at their books BS better make sure all their coach and ref payments have 990s and are by the book.
You meant and ref payments have 1099s, right? A ref is an independent contractor, and as such is paid under IRS Form 1099 MISC instead of IRS form for employees: Form W2.

Beachside SC - RE: ‘Beachside Trouble’
I just found out about this site as a result of a friend who had posted some information that I had given her regarding Beachside and the investigators asking questions at a practice. First off, I’m very sad that a site like this is so full of anger and wreckless parent chatter. I truly hope the kids never learn of it.
At the same time I feel compelled to inform the facts, and clear up any misunderstandings regarding Beachside and the apparent ongoing investigations.
So here are the facts.
I’m a mother of a wonderful son, who is a good DA soccer player, and have been at Beachside for the last several years. My son loves his team mates, likes his coach (not so much last year or the year before). The club has been asking for donations to build a team facility since the day we arrived, at times with some undo pressure. As a family with some resources, we have donated. We have donated 5 figures more than once, and we’ve been kept abreast of the development of the facility (so we thought) each year. It recently unraveled and apparently was never really close. This entire situation IS being investigated, and a lawsuit will be filed shortly by a consortium of parents.
We’ve come to realize that Beachside is a culture of misrepresentation and iron curtain politics that we are fully disgusted with, with specific reference to the lack of leadership at one of the more storied DA clubs in our area. It’s not our job or role to assign blame as to who created or facilitated this fraud, that will be up to the process that has begun that we are cooperating with.
We want our money back, EVERYONE does. None of our boys will be in the club to benefit from a home facility, yet we are funding it? The whole thing smells, and the expression that if it looks like xxx, smells like xxx, it’s probably xxx.
So yes we were approached by an investigator, we are cooperating by showing cleared checks, sharing fund raising emails, and fundraising efforts all in the name of the new facility. What they do with that is up to them. We don’t actually think we’ll ever see a penny back, but if we do, it’s right...if we don’t....it’s wrong.
Coaches have been leaving year after year (more rapidly of late)....all will be approached and questioned for what they know/don’t know about the funds, the failed facility, and the ability of the Club to return those funds.
Just to put this into perspective....
Meanwhile, a DA club like New York Soccer Club is currently building a team facility in Westchester NY at Manhattanville College. We know that because we can see their permits online, and we’ve driven by the college and they’re building it NOW! What I mean by that is it’s actually being built right now, there plans, construction machines, ground is broken. How can a club that began in 1994 be so far behind a club that began in 2009! The answer for that is always the same, leadership and mismanagement. Apparently the New York Soccer Club is under new management ... kudos to them for accomplishing in 9 years what Beachside was unable to accomplish in 25 years! Mismanagement at its worst at Beachside.
Beachside has an inferiority complex that they think that everyone is out to get them...and they may be right. What we know is that there is a reason for that, and it’s no longer because Beachside is the best, it’s because their leadership are bad leaders; their coaches leave unhappy, their families leave because of lack of trust....other clubs hate them, officials speak badly of them....towns speak badly....why? Why is it always Beachside that everyone hates?
What was once a storied DA club has turned into a mess....because of their leadership, it’s a real shame and I know the USSF is looking at this seriously.
There are no winners here. The USSF losses a good DA Club, local families lose a viable club for their kids to participate in and for parents to trust....and we have to explain to my son why he’s leaving Beachside at the end of this season...and show him the club’s dirty laundry as an explanation.
We’re terrible disappointed in Beachside leadership, and terribly sad to have our son suffer from their mismanagement, and frustrated how badly we were lied to and manipulated into donating to a facility that likely never was going to be built.
None of the above is speculation, it’s all fact and I will never again look at this site but felt obligated to separate fact from fiction.
Good luck to you all!

I would like to provide you with some information. Do you have an anonymous email established where I can contact you? I am serious, please consider setting up an anonymous email, if you haven't already.
I was not aware of your consortium, I would like to get involved.

Potential evidence.....
As most of you are aware, in September 2016 Beachside SC entered into a contract to purchase approximately 11.3 acres of land in Monroe in pursuit of the Club’s goal of building Beachside Soccer Park. The 11.3 acre parcel is part of a much larger property owned by the seller. The purchase of the land was contingent on: (a) the Club gathering sufficient donations to fund the land acquisition and the construction of the fields, and (b) the seller obtaining the permits and approvals necessary for Beachside to build two regulation turf fields with lights and seating and a clubhouse.*
Over the past 15 months Beachside has raised a significant amount of capital and the permitting process was advancing. Beachside worked collaboratively with the seller and its engineering team for many months in connection with the seller’s application for the approvals for Beachside Soccer Park, including lights for both fields. Although the seller obtained some of the approvals for our project, the seller and its engineering consultant (with our concurrence) had concerns about their ability to obtain*allrequired permits and approvals for the 11.3 acre site we had under contract. In response to that concern, we began negotiations with the seller for a new location on the seller’s property in Monroe. Unfortunately, in December the seller informed us that his lenders do not want him to proceed with an amendment to the Beachside contract due to circumstances outside of Beachside’s control. As Beachside has continually acted in good faith throughout the process, the seller agreed to return our deposit and donate the engineering drawings to the Club for our future use.
We continue to strongly believe Beachside Soccer Park will establish a transformative environment for our players, coaches, parents and alumni. Despite this recent setback, the Board of Directors and management of the Club remain committed to finding a long-term solution to the Club’s field needs. We are continuing to review prospects, including some new to the market, and hope to have a suitable location in the near term.
Thank you to those who generously donated and made pledges to donate so as to ensure a future home for Beachside SC. We look forward to updating you in 2018 regarding further Beachside Soccer Park developments and implementing this transformative project.

Email dent sounds like they are working on other sites, but the longer it goes on with no updates the more people will get angry. I'm sure some are simply regretting giving $ to a field that their kid may or may not use a year or two from now, let alone questioning if it ever gets done or were they ripped off.
