Well after MK kicked his older kid off the Academy team, he took his younger kid out of the club and then pulled the fields.

That said, this lumberjack parent wearing fool was no picnic I assure you, and neither of his kids belonged in the club. At least MK had the courage to dismiss the mediocre talent.

Oh... and the Easton fields were horrific. Many years ago they were heaven grass fields, rarely played on and looked like a professional grass turf field. A year after Beachside butchered them, they became a cow pasture field with more weeds and divots than actual grass.

Whatever Beachside touches turns to ashes, maybe their just cursed.

There's some exaggeration for dramatic effect, but in general when there's smoke there's fire. IT may be just fine for your kid next year, but definitely keep aware. Also, be cautious becoming friends with parents. There are some nice ones but there's ones that will shiv you if your would their kid an edge.

Everyone's experience is different. We had many issues and we left. We still have friends there who love it. We also have friends who stay but are miserable. You (and your kids) need to think about what they really want/need from a club and if BS is the best place. If you think it's the best option for your kid then don't let this board sway your opinion. However, as someone said multiple times in this thread... "where there is smoke there is fire". You should go in eyes wide open. The fire may be a small one that you can avoid or it's a massive blaze. Either way, BS like every club has many issues. I may be biased but we think the issues are more severe than at other clubs - which is why we left.

We spoke to a coach, and spoke to Mickey Kydes. Attended the tryouts and were offered a roster spot recently which we accepted.

My son is going to play on the boys -13 DA team. I don't know any of the parents, but there seems to have been a lot that went on in that age group by reading these 300 pages of posts.

We'll see what happens, I hope its good for him. He's so excited.

My lord, to say that there was drama in that age group this past year is a bit of a understatement. You'll get caught up to speed on it all I'm sure. Lets just say its very likely that your son will be a top 5 player on that team.

Hopefully it works out for him, but I agree with others that it's good to go in eyes wide open. Always remember, you have other options. If his enthusiasm for the sport starts to wane, pull him.

Some advise

- Consider it a year to year rental or season to season if you don't mind losing the cash
- Experiences do vary.
- don't become a manager
- be careful of sharing too much information to coaches or parents
- Keep your options open

What on this webpage is actually TRUE/REAL?

We just joined, and I was pointed to this blog. I've been sick to my stomach all day reading this.

How much of all of this is true, I've been reading pages for hours and I feel like I've made a horrible mistake.

Can someone PLEASE PLEASE tell me if even some of this is true?

OMG.... can't even eat.

Clubs list the fields they possibly will play at, for example if Seacoast is in your league and you will play them ...then Beachside will list the field up in New Hampshire if they choose.These are the places you will be playing at.

Yes much stress there was. It’s sad but the team was loaded with future Barcelona stars. Unfortunately it was extremely hard to keep such talent , I heard three of the kids took deals at Man City , two went to Real Madrid , another two are on loan at Inter Milan and I believe Eleven players started their own team out in Arizona.

Funny thing is that the team actually was loaded with future stars. Five of them are currently starters at NYC FC, two starters at NYSC,and roughly 2 to 3 more who are spread elsewhere who would have been considered elite talent for that age group.

Huge difference between the 07 North & South teams. North coach actually developed the team to perform at a very high level. Just found out he and his son are leaving to join another club. Best players on South team have become frustrated and are leaving club. Roster for next year is looking incredibly weak. Save your money- seriously. I’m a south parent and was exposed to North parents and their coach. Nothing but great things to say about the North coach. This is all such a scam and a business. You really have to know the game and get a little that lucky your kid finds a good group to play with and a solid coach that gives a $###!
