Like said above BS is an overpriced program for families that can afford it, getting a few players on college rosters at schools they can get into on their own with good grades from top CT schools. They don't place all and many don't last long in college. Why give up HS for that? And if you're really good you head to either NY pro club
Either BS gets merged into a potential CT-based professional club, or BS will eventually be dropped from the DA.

The Montreal whopping has nothing to do with it being an MLS franchise.
Do you have or had a child playing at Oak or Bsc Academy? I thought not.
If you did you’d know that traveling to play Montreal is like climbing a mountain , it’s a difficult challenge.
The boys from both clubs travel on one bus with two age groups sometimes 3 teams , it’s a 7-8 hour drive leaving usually after School on a Friday so they’ve had a long week as it is. Montreal teams are average to good but play with passion , the players are speaking in French so you have no idea to read into any play on field. The bus lag alone can be challenging but with that said there’s “ No Excuse “ not getting the W and 10 ga is unacceptable but I can grant you this, that will not be the result next season , most likely Bsc gets the W at home.
If you don’t believe me check Montreal’s win and loss record and you’ll see it’s pretty good at home but sucks Away.
Of all the MLS teams they do fair in league position but disappear come playoffs.

How will affiliate programs work with BS?
Pythons are now Beachside South, is that how it works? Bigger pools to identify same kids in the area?
BS needs to figure out the players pools at young ages, best athletes equal short term success. Don’t know if programs will ever have patience to develop the right soccer players that can compete later on in life

I know with the past older groups the club struggled to get starters to take the Trip to Montreal ,a Senior year player always have conflicts with weekend travel. Especially if the game was not important enough to change qualifying for playoffs.
The Senior no shows won’t change and it’s not only Bsc it’s at every DA club, most have college commitments and you have ask are they risking injury now they’ve come to the last leg before college.
Westchester I heard lost 5 last year mid season.

The issue is that teams are stacked with older kids to try to stay competitive and there's little quality at younger ages.

In a pro sponsored academy (where mommy and daddy do not pay), it is understood that not all kids play equal time at the older ages. If you don't like that then you are more than welcome to go elsewhere.

If the coach doesn't like the kid, then the coach should not have picked the kid up at tryouts. Once the coach picks the kid, then the coach is obligatd to work with the kid and help the kid become a better player. This is true for every player on the team.
So, every player must get game time. The game is why they are there, they don't join the team just for practice, and the game is where players use what they learned in practice at full speed.
So, playing time must be meaningful. Ever see a coach throw in a bench player and then yank them right after because of something the coach didn't like? All the players on the field have had 30 minutes to warm up when you send in your bench player cold. You are expecting your bench player to do something you do not expect of your starters, namely, to come right up to game speed instantaneously.
Field play should be enough time for the player to warm up and play. So, fair playing might include a minimum playing time, such as 25%.
Then, on top of minimum playing time, there should be earned playing time. So, the kid who worked hard at practice, is fit, and is playing well might get the 25% plus 75% and play all game. Or play most of the game, etc.
So, clubs. On the girls's side, OW doesn't play the bench, ever. Not even at showcases. You are paying to have some daddy coach sit you on the bench and play their own kid all game even though their own kid hasn't earned playing time, isn't all that strong, and missed the last three practices because of "dance."
FSA gives 50% playing time to everyone on the girls' side. Part of the reason for this is their league rules for ECNL and NPL, no re-entry in the same half. So, at the end of the quarter, on comes the bench, and they stay there until halftime. Second half, same as the first, lather, rinse, repeat.
And so on.
So, know your kid. Know the clubs. Choose your tryouts wisely. And, find a coach who gives fair playing time, because, while nobody expects equal time, the kids are there to play the game.
