I hope you all saved money for college. Anyone relying on soccer to pay for college is a tragedy waiting to happen.

Soccer should be for fun and the life experience.

And of course you should be focusing on academics.

I hope everyone is doing this. Please tell me you are.

I think Crossfire United is probably the best club in Oregon if you have college aspirations, but it really comes down to what coach you have and having the right roster fit. Westside does a good job as well.
Yes it is one team (CU-03). Probably the best team ever put together to date in PDX. Thank you Kevin Legg for developing this group 5 years ago when 7th graders and coaching/developing them for 3 years... Good Club, Great families, Good Coaches and great development. (Biased opinion)

Agree. And this 03 team along with last year’s 02 team dominated oysa players in high school and filled the all state team and players of year, with rare exception. Two years of best in Oregon.

It may well be the top 03 birthyear team in Oregon for girls, but they have no way to quantify or support that claim with any empirical evidence, since by virtue of being 2nd fiddle to the NWSL Thorns they were stuck playing in the US Club ECNL wasteland for years during the DA reign.

Most parents tend to think their kid is the best of the best, your delusional thinking & extrapolation is understood especially during a global pandemic. As a side note, much higher quality teams, coaches and players have come before this group in Oregon. With players that actually stuck at top 20 d1 schools.

Sorry this team wouldn't even crack the all-time top 10 in Oregon history, if they do in your mind that's all that matters these days---- as we invent our own narratives to support our fantasy beliefs.

I overheard you mention you thought Trump should have a place in Mt. Rushmore also.

Very impressive couple of years for Crossfire!

Too bad the Oregon club scene is so diluted and this hybrid THUSC club was unfortunately rejected by the DA never getting the chance to measure how they stack up in Oregon or the Region.

Impressive. And now that the Thorns Academy is playing ECNL, we can see that CU03 beat them 2x already by scores of like 6-0. Most other age groups were similar. Thorns Academy does have a stronger team at one of the younger age groups. 07? Any might build stronger from there. Having the backing of the Timbers/Thorns goes a long way. As always, times will change in Oregon and new super teams will emerge from different clubs. However, there’s no denying CU’s recent total dominance unless you’re the Title IX Ted troll.

Dominating ROTFL propaganda in a parent forum. Absolutely.

Title IX somehow spills into womens soccer with ridiculous amounts of funding that doesn't match interest or talent levels.

Fueling these insanity narratives of everyday Jill's.

                          This fiction is priceless.

These Crossfire groups have definitely dominated the last two years. Will they also dominate the 2022 class?

Linking to right-wing *****holes like Shapiro is just gross.

But Title IX does distort women's college soccer. Good or bad I won't say, but it is what it is.

CU is probably the best girls' team in the 03 class. Best youth team overall? Put down the bong.

Here in Oregon, leagues don't mean jack. Main benefit of ECNL is that US Club imposes far fewer restrictions on predatory club/coach behavior than do USYS/OYSA and affiliated leagues. That and it optimizes heavily for college recruiting. So long as other leagues exist and are viable, this isn't a problem. But none of the travel leagues offer anything that you can't get from OYSA premier, other than more hotel points and frequent flyer miles, and something for Dad to boast about in the clubhouse after a hard round of 18.

OSU has so many local players that some play and some don’t. Next year they all have to compete with the new recruits. I admit it doesn’t look good for them going forward but hopefully they followed the golden rule of recruiting: pick the school you’d go to without soccer.
Not being mean at all. Stating reality. The Oregon freshman from Thorns/Capital has played a few minutes here and there this season, about as much as the Arizona kid. We agree on the bottom line - pick a school where you'd be happy without soccer, because there's no guarantees your college soccer experience will turn out the way you anticipate.

It's also worth noting that many of the "stay with OYSA and you can get the same recruits as the teams that play in ECNL or academy" honks are silent about an OYSA family spending thousands to be recruited. Whether you spend your money on an ECNL club, or spend your money on a high priced recruiting specialist, you're still spending money to get your kid a spot on a college team. And that's fine! Your money your life your choice. But don't act like you possess any moral high ground because your kid didn't play on CU or FCP's ECNL teams.
