There's nothing to discuss regarding her current situation in college. Beavs have an excellent local keeper with pro prospects who did it all through OYSA club play. The player being discussed sits on the depth chart behind her and the backup. Her time will come if she doesn't transfer. And I totally agree with you that she got terrible advice - not sure it was from someone looking for a payday given how little professional female soccer players make. But definitely bad advice and it didn't come from Thorns Academy. They told her to go to college and when given the chance didn't draft her or sign her as an undrafted player, like they did with UOregon grad Marrissa Everett. I don't know how much more clear they could have made the message.

No one should bad mouth any of these players! They and their parents made the best decision for them they thought at the time. They should continue to do so. Should we also slam the players who committed to D1 schools and don’t play hardly or at all, some at a school they don’t even like much? Do you think that their dreams came true? I don’t. But I don’t think they made a huge mistake trying for their dream. Some stay and never really get to play. The school, the practice and the free swag is enough. Some transfer and start and play majority minutes at a lower D1. Some drop out of soccer and are surprised at how happy they are pursuing new dreams. One transfer from the Beavers is the star of her new D1 team. To me, that’s a success story. Another player might choose to stay and sit the bench. Neither choice is right or wrong. Each young woman is different and makes different choices. I wish them all success.

Early games played in Pac12 were not considered conference games. The next time Stanford and Beavs play each other it will count towards conference standings, let’s see how the Beavs do when the game means something to Stanford

A college athlete is not a child.

That said, some of the rude commentary on the player in question seem mainly directed at her youth club experience, rather than her current situation in college. But it wouldn't be the first time a young athlete got bad advice from someone looking for a payday.

You would think someone who was entering the NWSL draft would not be riding the pine behind a keeper that is at the bottom in their conference for GA

Honestly thought this was the year of the Beav after finding some looked over diamonds. Stopped looking hard enough so it will be a pity if they cant turn things around.
