Seeing on soccer wire that the 02 Vancouver superstar lasted one semester at University of Oregon before being shown the door. Proof that dominating OYSA doesn’t transfer to success in the Pac 12. This should concern a few GPS, Capitol, and Eugene class of 2021 players. If you want to compete in the Pac 12 - arguably the strongest conference in women’s college soccer - you need to play the highest level of competition in high school. You might not like ecnl (and GDA when it was a thing), but the level of competition is/was light years higher than what any player can get in OYSA. Hopefully the Vancouver player has more success in the Mountain West.

While it is easy to look like a superstar in the insanely watered down OYSA, all players are different and those OYSA players probably wouldn’t have gotten commitments to the D1 programs they did if they hadn’t played OYSA and looked like a superstar. That’s what got them in the door but it does NOT mean they wont succeed at their colleges. Having seen them all play in high school on the same fields and being able to compare apples to apples, my bet is the OYSA Capitol players overall to do the best in college as far as OYSA players go. Capitol players were able to compete well against the Ecnl players on the high school pitch. Many of the rest didn’t even stand out in high school play, while the Ecnl/exGDA player mostly did stand out on the common pitch. The records and all state teams attest to that. The addition of all the Ecnl players and the Capitol ex gda player, made high school play much more competitive than OYSA leagues. That’s how low OYSA competition has gotten. In most states other than Oregon, high school is lower than club.

However, there are two sides to every coin. Ecnl/GDA competition is definitely light years ahead but because of that, many of the Ecnl/gda players didnt stand out as a superstar in the elite leagues and then weren’t offered the same D1 spots that the big frog players in the small and weak OYSA were. Bottom line is those OYSA players got committted to D1 schools and get the chance to prove themselves whereas many of the Ecnl/gda players that are probably better, might not even end up playing for a school like Nevada, much less get a Pac12 nod, even if they deserve it more. College recruiters don’t look at the high school games to see the players on the same pitch and see that maybe OYSA D1 commit regularly gets schooled by regular Ecnl non-stars. Does it matter if the Ecnl players are better but never get the chance to play in the Pac12? Maybe they should’ve stayed in OYSA and been the star. It doesnt matter if the Ecnl player is better but cant get their foot in the Pac12 door to show it. Three OYSA players are going to highly ranked Arizona but no Ecnl players. That said, how does Ecnl (now including the gda teams) get that message to the college coaches? Until they do, OYSA will continue to send its small pond stars to Pac12/D1 schools while many better Ecnl players look on or settle for lesser soccer programs. Is Ecnl/gda better preparing their players to succeed once in the college door but falling behind OYSA clubs in getting them in the college doors in the first place? Maybe the OYSA players are having the better end of the stick and the last laugh.

      Give me a break.

Players transfer for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with soccer.

You really need a hobby. Something productive that you enjoy that is positive for the world.

We like playing our round robins in the toilet bowl of Oregon Club Soccer, we tell and sell the parents it's the highest level, since marijuana is legal in Oregon we get no blow back.

Still got a better offer than the ecnl kids who couldn’t get to Oregon or Nevada.

And you still are doing what you’ve always been doing the last 4 years...Focused on people who are better while making a case of lies and selling the ecnl scam.

Says a lot about you and your situation.

Should we count the Ecnl players who didn’t even get a college offer or walked on to a school and you won’t hear from them anymore...haha you won’t mention those while that players team had everyone commit to college and overall a better standard then any of the ecnl clubs that year.

Maybe you’ve been lied to and don’t have anything to show...

              Losers focus On winners...

That’s why no one hears anything about you but a pyramid league scam.

Thorns forward that went to Oregon isn’t playing either while a non ecnl kid from California is their top recruit Guess your argument collapsed on itself.

Anyone who knows anything will tell you that ecnl is a scam and it’s not hard to show the teams in Oregon wouldn’t even be top 3-4 in this state and are trying desperately to hide the fact they are terrible and having to play each other for the last 3 months.

Don’t feed the ecnl sellers. They literally spend every year upset they are getting embarrassed or hiding and focusing on everyone else who are successful. Seriously. All you’ve got to do is add up the college commits from the 02 year or the past 5 years and you ll see it’s a straight up scam and you never hear about half the players trying to leave or not getting any offers.

Oysa 2020 grad year teams had more Pac 12 commits than the ecnl clubs.

Top 3 oysa teams had more college commits than ecnl clubs. Vancouver and Westside has more per team than any of the ecnl teams and overall higher levels.

Oysa 2021 grad year teams have more Pac 12 commits than the ecnl clubs if you include gps who was in oysa.

You might be able to fool dumb parents but you can’t fool coaches and it’s clear they think ecnl is a joke on this state.

Lol when ecnl scammers are saying they aren’t getting the exposure in ecnl to combat the best oysa teams making them look stupid then turn around say to come to ecnl for exposures.

Nope, I’m not sending my kid to team that revolves around either playing teams that beat them 8-0 and call it development or beating crappy teams that wouldn’t even be top 5 in Oregon.

I’ll stick with my kid on a team that is actually a team. No wonder everyone leaves ecnl teams to oysa to get a better commitmeant.

This has always been the case. There have been some good ECNL teams from Oregon in the past but overall the travel teams that play big tournaments and play in regional leagues overall have had been numbers.

ECNL is like buying a Range Rover. It's expensive and frequently passed when broken down on the side of the road by cars that are less expensive but more reliable.

If fc portland and thorns are rangerovers, oysa is a Benz suv.

Fc portland and thorns are not better than oysa teams. Not sure if anyone is aware of the crap coming out of those clubs now. It’s not what they say they are.

Who cares about pac 12. .0001% of kids that go to Pac 12 from Oregon actually play and usually are forgotten about. Do you realize the best Pac 12 kids from this area are still riding the bench or transferred out.

Even then, oysa teams have more d2 and mid major d1 players.

No one cares about your kid when they graduate. Make sure your kid is something they are happy.

Spoken from a parent who’s kid went to portland state then transferred out because it’s all a bit of a letdown focusing on division.

Everyone is forgotten about. That’s why you need to make sure your kid is happy and enjoying the team the play for now and in college.

If you tilt yourself to selling BS you will be mistaken.
