It was more like 80% of the talent. Thanks for the correction.

That's why THUSC had to register a now former CU team under their 'club' umbrella just so they could play state cup. They won it at u13g but over 50% of the starters left for the DA which is perhaps the biggest reveal of the insane con job.

The DA Thorns & Timbers are both not Oregon clubs per say, both are not eligible for USYS or US Club or ODP league/competition. They each can only play in US Soccer's DA platform based on their association with a Professional team (NWSL Thorns & MLS Timbers) US Soccer granted them this distinction.

THUSC is your mommy & daddy not US Soccer. Tool.

If they were a club CU club, this team would be going to Hawaii with a different name than THUSC. Really who cares about facts and reality. The dream of being Elite is fueled by a sick process of travelling all over the country, full fare !!! to play other 'dreamers' some of which are actually clubs, unlike CU. Jus Sayin. Insult to Injury.
Thornz aren't in the GDA league because of their loose association with the semi-professional Thorns NWSL team. There are tons of clubs with teams in the GDA that are not associated with an NWSL team. So really the Thornz Academy is not distinct in any way, save that their program is truly terrible and they've never developed a college or pro player in 4 years of trying.

Thornz Asylum U16 actually took a player who couldn't make the "A" team roster at WashT. As well as a player from a Pacific FC "B" team. And these lemmings are trying to say that Thornz Asylum is "elite"? Far from it. They're wouldn't even be considered "elite" in the local rec leagues.

80% of the talent? Thanks mom. I would wonder how you came to that conclusion considering not all who left started. I'm not begrudging those families their decision. It's a free market system, and people make decisions based on a wide variety of factors, so to conclude it's a problem with CU or that the team is now left with only 20% of its talent is not only ridiculous, it's insulting. But then again, that's why it was posted on this board.

It's true! Thornz Asylum does have 80% of the talent - 80% of the talent of a typical PYSA rec team.

Daughters HS classmate plays on JV2. ECNL does have "elite" talent.

                Are the players any good?

I’m glad my kid is not one of the 16 girls who didn’t play one single minute of their last GDA u15 game. Losing to XFP 0-5 and playing the same 11 girls the whole game is not developement.

Even the person entering game stats gave up on U15. They picked the first 11 players on both rosters and entered 80 minutes for each player. 5 goals for XFP which is probably correct but every one of the 5 goals scored by the first 5 names on the XFP roster? In order? And all 5 goals scored in first minute? Not sure who played or how many minutes but seems highly unlikely the actual game matches the report.

Did U14 play the last game? No report or score entered.

The last game was a bonfire. Just looking forward to the new season. Even some of our starters left so they can play HS. This is the age group where many are going to 9th grade so we expected some losses. Our team will have some challenges now but we will pick up the pieces with some of the promising 04/05 who are in 8th grade.

27 kids on a roster? That's your first sign you're in the wrong place.

DA is great if you're a starter. After that its benefits greatly diminish. If you're not in the top 14 you're probably better off elsewhere (unless your only other option is a lousy club)

My DD was in the top 14 with >75% starts but she left the DA because of (1) wanting to play HS (2) stop getting creamed (3) false promises - Tobin showed up once / month.

Some new kids showed up at the younger age group and they were already talking about bolting when they get to HS - its a dumb idea and causing a lot of turnover. The HS thing is a real problem unless your kid is going to a small private HS where they don't have a team.

DA definitely isn't for everyone. I think there's a demand for it, but USSF overestimated demand by a country mile. In doing so they added too many poor quality clubs who in turn had to admit too many poor quality players. Shrink it, improve the quality, then it might accomplish what they had hoped. This floundering in no man's land won't improve the game or players.

US Club youth leagues don't have the backing of US Soccer like the DA does, so there (US Club) journey is a cautionary tale, absolutely. Thanks for sharing.
