Here's a fun fact that is far more than coincidence - USSF decided to launch GDA right when there was a huge PR mess about the WNT and their unequal treatment vs the men's team, lawsuit and all. Up until then GDA wasn't on their radar. Bad press and voila - GDA!

They have already - it's all about advertising/sponsorship/tv viewership/. Some of their arguments were valid, some were not. Now that the men's team hasn't qualified for the Olympic or WC that data no longer applies.

Now that US Soccer is encroaching on girls soccer hopefully they don't crash it into the ground like they did with men's soccer. What a mess.

Which is one reason why I never understood why some thought USSF starting GDA was a good idea. Ten years into BDA and there isn't a whole lot to show for it. So now we should trust them to run the girls' side with success?

I did say not all their arguments were valid. Ad $, viewership, sure. Actual work for the same job? No. They also mentioned that the women get health insurance but the men don't. But the men play on professional teams that either provide insurance or they can afford it. Female pro players don't make squat. Besides, it doesn't account for the huge difference.

So why'd she leave Westside then if it was such a great club for development? Hmmm... We all know the answer, don't we? Same reason all girls with any talent leave Timbers Alliance clubs.

Clubs do not develop players, players develop players. All credit goes to this player for putting in the hard work away from club soccer.

The women get paid fairly for what they do. I mean, the USWNT can't beat an average U16 boys club team, and U16 boys don't get paid at all. So it seems that the women are overpaid.

Extremely easy. As soon as the USWNT can compete with the USMNT on the field, then they will be paid the same. Until then, they'll actually be paid more than the U16 boys club teams that they can't beat...

Job description isn't even close to the same. If it was, then there would be women playing on the USMNT and in the MLS.

Helps us to understand that the Timbers interns get paid by the word. Do you really think anyone A) believes you or B) cares what your opinion is? My daughter committed to the D1 school of her dreams and is very happy on her CU team. Sorry your GDA experiment is swirling down the drain.

It’s really sad how deep you dig and scratch to find reasons to dismiss the success in college placements Crossfire has had across multiple years (10 mostly D1 this year which is considered a less strong team). You obviously have a kid playing somewhere else. Focus on the positives there and stop fabricating nonsense about other clubs to make yourself feel better. It’s just sad.

The proof is in the college commitments. Congratulations to all the CU and other Oregon girls that are playing or will be playing D1 soccer.

Crossfire had the most D1 commits but FC, Gda & some OYSA teams also had D1 commits. Well done all around. It’s fun to watch them play in the big league!
