    Doesn't appear to be.

Elite Puget Sound clubs appear to be moving their A teams to BECNL; but there are lots of other clubs around the state that aren't going, and not likely to be invited to (B)ECNL (if for no other reason than ECNL, much like DA, prefers to limit themselves to major metro areas, although Boise seems to qualify). Also, the puget sound B teams might remain in RCL. As a result, RCL might not be as high of quality as it was before, but it still has a role to play.

And this, unfortunately, appears to be US Club's business model: Skim off the top teams at the top clubs, and leave USYS to cater to non-premier competitive and rec teams. In some geographies they've been successful at this, at others, not so much. Non-premier and rec are important parts of youth soccer, and such a structure might make sense, but given the politics of it all (US Club and USYS being rivals, rather than integrated parts of a whole), expect USYS to continue to object to this.

I don't know all the politics of Washington youth soccer, but I've heard it's every bit as nasty as Oregon.

Now if (B)ECNL really wants to be taken seriously as the top tier of youth soccer (possibly beneath a smaller and more focused DA), they would implement pro/rel: Each year, the worst team and/or club (not sure if this should be done on a team or club basis) in a given geographical region is booted out, and other teams invited to join (if none are interested, than the relegated team gets to re-apply).
I think at one point PYSA (the huge rec administer in Portland) was US Club or at least was looking at it closely. US Club basic model is cheaper than USYSA. OYSA had to offer PYSA a deep discount to keep them in the fold.

So I am not sure it is just US Club skimming off the top of pyramid. However, directors at large youth clubs - who have to deal with USYSA (in any given state) bureaucracy day in and day out - some times reach a breaking point and are in the best position to make a move to US Club, especially if a group of them work in tandem. US Club reps reach out to them fairly regularly to see if they are still happy in USYSA world. Seems like there are parallels in the DA world as well (i.e. big clubs get tired of the top down mandates and have some bargaining power to go elsewhere).

Hear you on the promotion/relegation. The ABCs of leagues here has some destructive elements; the closed aspect of them makes it all the worse.

      Let me correct myself-

There will still be an RCL...basically rec soccer from divisions 2 and lower will be RCL.

The top teams will be doing BECNL. Talking with two Seattle coaches it sounds like Vantuckians will be a part of the BECNL. Apparently you can have a shooting range near your fields on gameday. So we can all play in a watered down OYSA League or try and make a Vantucky team and play in a quality league against good competition. I mean, we already travel to play why not travel to play better competition.

The issue for Washington clubs, at u15 and above, is high school soccer. It's a fall sport in Oregon and a spring sport in Washington. Competing in OYSA simply doesn't work.

Becnl for WashT u15s and up would make the most sense. For U14 and younger, playing against Portland teams is more practical.

Website still has WashT in boys DA. Which does not necessarily mean anything...

The Washington website still says DA 2018/19 season. Has not updated to 2019/20 season. No DA emblem on the home page. Not sure what that means.

Watch Vantucky get girls ECNL next. Facilities, coaching, great DOC and ECNL? All next to a gun range? That’s bigger than a trifecta!

Official from us soccer, no DA at any ages next year- bullchit that the clubs don’t have the “resources” to support the program. timbers have now officially managed to isolate themselves, like they attempted a few years ago, and not have other Oregon teams show better than them at the showcases. What a joke and disservice to our local youth and the exposure it gave them regardless of how you felt about it

From everything I have seen and have been told by friends (xf premier and Washington premier) with kids playing up in Seattle, The top teams will still be DA, ECNL will be their “b” teams....the only ones getting less is Oregon kids. Thanks Timbers...

Crossfire may be a different answer (in part because of the HS-aged boys program) but pretty reliable source that at least one of the stronger Seattle clubs is dropping DA entirely.

u12 (2008) DA platform has been eliminated across the nation by US Soccer.
