A league without standings to help focus on development and to restrict clubs that focus on play to win. Seems like nobody really bought into the purpose of this structure in the first place.
Having no standings is preferred but that's not how club soccer works here. Parents are paying big money and want their kids on winning teams. Since most can't tell good coaching from bad wins becomes a proxy for development. The clubs and leagues know it and won't fight it.

Shouldn't fight the fight. It is competitive sports.

Most parents don't have any good coaching, period. Just smoke and mirrors about developmental theories on a talent pool that will plateau at HS, then be long forgotten. It's a money maker for the non-profits and this is the dressing (development) they put on it to keep the cheese flowing through their veins.

"not how club soccer works here" - not how club soccer works in most places, particularly in pay-to-play environment.
Not OP, but it's pretty obvious where the best Oregonians were the last couple of years, the Timbers DA. This little local club league called DA was the leftover league after the TA took the top players. The OYSA had some talented teams as well but the best of the best were at the DA.
The results in the little DA over the past few years had no relevance on the HS ages u15 to u19.
I am not the OP either, but I will partially disagree with you. The TA 06 team, is the top 06 team in the state. Hands down. No argument. The 05 TA team, has not been the top team in the state for 2 years now. Not even close. In fact, the "little DA" has had better players collectively than 05 TA. As to the older TA teams...well, judging by their records....nuff said. BTW, 05 and 06 TA the past 2 seasons has been DA. Exactly the same, just playing in Washington. After seeing TA in the showcases in Oceanside the past 2 years, they would have been better off staying in Oregon. They would have been pushed here.

Your'e not disagreeing with me, you're actually on the same page. Which is appreciated.
Have a great day and sorry you thought I was talking about TA when I mentioned the former club driven little DA metro league, re: Development or 'dressing' pitch for dollars at the Non-Profits.
Not that it really matters or counts for anything, but all the scores from the 2007 games are posted on the USSDA site...just have to click the download button to get the Excel Spreadsheet. 06 and 05 scores are easily found, but have to go one extra step to see the 07 scores.
FINAL 2007 STANDINGS (GP - Win - Draw - Loss - Points)

I never saw that you could download the standings for the 07 group. That would have saved a lot of asking around and as well as having to read this god forsaken board.
I don't much care if it is with or without merit to track results. It is a metric. Not the only one at all, but still a metric to view the results of a year's work.
That said, the USSDA d/l showed some missing pieces and bad scores recorded. I only tracked UPDX. 2 of the missing/incorrect results were versus FC. When the results are corrected (only from what I am sure of in person) I get this for the top 3 teams:
Best of luck to all of the boys as they move onto a new year and season and chapter. It was a good year for all of them from what I saw. Not without flaws, but still productive in their growth.

Interesting - the WaTFC game against FC was also scored incorrectly. Website shows a 1-1 tie, but WaTFC won 2-1. So, they actually had 47 points. What’s up with only the FC games getting recorded wrong? And interesting as it sounds like they were all recorded incorrectly in their favor?
