Or, is this really an FC parent pretending to be a Westside parent. Either way, both are pathetic.

Copa parent here and not OP. That was clearly and FC parent acting as a WT parent.

First, congratulations to FC. They consistently got it done and the right team won that game.

Second, there is nothing creepy or pathetic about not having a child playing, yet watching the finals. Many of the kids are friends through RTC/ODP/School. There were hundreds of people at this game and a very small percentage were actual parents of the players.

Third, the red card was officially rescinded because of referee protocol. Apparently the referee coach was prompting the center ref to pull a second yellow card. Consequently, leading to the red card. This is not allowed and someone was crafty enough on the FC side to recognize and protest it. By no means am I agreeing with this decision, but laying out the facts of what happened. And yes, had this been a Copa player, all kinds of conspiracy theories would have been underway. Along with the with name calling, finger pointing and generalizing about how all of us (parent, coaches, players) are slimy and unethical e. The typical haters doing the standard song and dance.

Fourth, the real issue is that this player is scary and dangerous. He should have been red carded in the first five minutes of the final. He wasn't. Then he proceeded to take out the ADF central defender shortly thereafter. Remember, he also took out the Copa central defender last week very early in the game. Neither were able to return to play, which obviously has a tremendous affect on the end result. He is too physical and aggressive to be playing with kids who are generally much smaller and not prepared for a boy-man to come kung foo into them at top speed. What's worse is that he is a good player and doesn't need all of the extra physicality. I sincerely hope he can get some coaching to tame his game and learn to play real soccer. Until then, all of our kids will continue to be at risk.

Fifth, whoever said we can all agree the single ref model failed, absolutely nailed it. The officiating has been horrendous since this change was implemented. Not because of poor referees themselves, but because they are set up to fail. They can't possibly do an effective job with no AR's actively judging the game.

Sounds like the referee coaches need coaches

Evan's Dad here, ADF. Here's the opening play:

Respect to Westside for showing up! (Evan is alumni).

Speaking on behalf of my son, this is precisely what OYSA should have expected by reversing the red. We watched the same player at the WT/FCP game. We watched the refs confer after the second called hit and when he deservedly received the red. We are pursuing this. I'd like to know who made the decision to reverse the red.

A better idea: This kid needs to play up a year. Were he at Westside, he would probably have been sent to the 04 team the day after tryouts. Better for his development to go against players of a similar strength and size, than to constantly go against players he can physically dominate. If he's an 06 who is already playing up a year--I believe you can petition OYSA to have a player play up two years (normally one year is the maximum, but two years are allowed under certain circumstances, both for kids of extraordinary skill and extraordinary size). Someone said that the ADF 05s have an 07 player. 06 Copa had an 08 playing with them (not sure if he still is--he's not large, just good).

          Something to consider.

Let's just face the facts. This game would have not gone to any other way even if 71 wasn't playing! I think if she has proven that they had several other players to step up if someone is missing (30+ minutes down a player vs Copa and scoring 2 goals). They would have put in a different striker or put in a different midfielder and moved one of their meds up to striker. Would be same result. The FCP 05 was a good team and and they got results on the field.

              PCU Cup Champions
              Lake Oswego Cup Champions
              OYSA Fall League champions
Desert classic finalists (lost to very good Dallas Texans team)
Northwest champions league finalists (lost to Crossfire premier 1-0 on goal in 61st min)
              OYSA Spring league champions
              State cup champions

Now it is time to regroup and look toward the next year. Many changes will be taking place!
Some kids may choose to stay at the state level, some will go to the DA and some will end up in the Timbers DA. It was a great run and one player would definitely not have derailed that.

Sorry your son got hurt. But since you're here--might you speak to him about his habit of swinging his elbows around? Last time we played you guys, our right back had to leave the game with a black eye courtesy of your kid's elbow, and it's YOUR kid who led the league in yellow cards last spring: http://oysa-2017springleague.sportsa...8-9A0C6F011C08.

Nobody deserves to be injured on a soccer field, but this is a two-way street. And I'm being restrained in my criticism here.

No one is contesting the defeat.
What is being contested is the reversal of the red card on a player that everyone in the league knows is out of control and is proving time and again to be a real danger to other players who are counting on the referees to keep the players safe.

Just to make note; The red haired kid did return to the game a few minutes later!
It is kind of ironic how this kid (Red hair) is being used as an example here when he has been notorious for playing really aggressive and taking cheap shots at players Going for their legs & Pushing after the ball has been whistled dead) all year long.
Should I post a video on here showing all of the extracurricular (dead ball situations) pushing and shoving ADF delt out in all their games?
I am talking about two hands in the back at the end of several plays!

I don't know what you think you video shows but it shows a very good hard tackle. No foul. I am sorry the boy was hurt and I don't care what his reputation is. What foul would you have called? I am sorry, but that was a good hard tackle and sometimes players get hurt on good tackles. This is one of those times

Ev has a MOUTH, not an elbow. Every yellow was for talking to refs.

I'm not aware of the elbow incident you are talking about.

I think that some people are exaggerating here? Looking back through the fall and spring leagues, it appears that this boy has only been carded last weekend. Soccer is a physical game and it appears that the boy also made a play on the ball. There is a lot of pushing and shoving that goes on. I think ALL players should be aggressive like him as long as they are making plays on the ball! Once the ref issues a yellow card it is then time to reign back in a little bit, but you need to push the limits and find out how aggressive each ref will let you play (I am not talking about dirty plays, just aggressive on ball plays). This is a good strategy for all sports.

It looks like the FCP player took possession of the ball before the contact was made. ADF player did not do a good job securing the ball and hey, wait a minute.... Isn't that the ADF player who constantly plays super aggressive, takes cheap shots and has a terrible attitude?
Why would his dad be complaining????

Give me a break- a challenged 50/50 ball where feet come together at the ball and momentum brings them together and bodies and heads collide not a hand causing the issue. Not his fault he is bigger. ADF YOU HAVE NO ROOM TO CRY! slide tackles from behind late and away from the ball are and were much worse all state cup. Sorry your son got a bloody ear but the slow motion cut up still pictures do not jive with the video...
