Salmon creek having tryouts before state cup is over?

Those dates have to be typos.

Can a club have tryouts before state cup is over? They need to make a rule for this so kids can make tryouts

this jacks up my kids schedule. We can't make it to any of the tryout times.

    What are they thinking?

They are having tryouts based upon the earliest dates set by Washington Youth Soccer.

Yep. WA dates are earlier than Oregon. All on the up and up.

Is Salmon Creek even playing in OYSA anymore?

I was under the impression FCSC was folding?

No, just survival mode. Having tryouts before everyone else maybe gives them a shot to keep a few extra players.

I wonder if OYSA will allow any teams to enter if they have tryouts before the dates OYSA sets. That would open the door to other clubs doing the same.

OYSA has already stated that FCSC can have their tryouts that follow WSYSA but plan on not playing in any OYSA events.

To me this just means they have given up on the idea of getting any new top players. No top players are going to go tryout while their teams are still playing in state cup.

Also it looks like Pacific is doing these same dates.

Every WA club is using those same dates. Can't help it if OYSA is a bit behind the times.

they also will not be allowed to play in OYSA sanctioned leagues. It specifically states that you cannot have tryouts before the 72 hour period. Meaning, the earliest that tryouts can happen is 72 hours after the state championship of that age group. Tryouts earlier than that is in violation and they will not be able to play in state sanctioned leagues.

I know that OYSA knows about this. It's FCSC and Pacific's job to monitor this. My guess is that other clubs are waiting for these clubs to have their tryouts and then call them out afterwards in effect eliminating them from league play.

Other teams are skirting this by having informal "drop ins." Followed by competitive tryouts. Obviously they will be looking at the drop ins.

Where will FCSC play if they can't play OYSA or RCL?
