Join the most convenient club for training. Trophies and medals don't equal college money. Athletic ability and time on the ball do. Since you can't do anything about athletic ability, you should be helping your kid find the opportunities to train the most.

Good luck with your bootball thugball in OYSA 3rd division, TA lemming tough guy!
Posting your thoughts from North Korea is amusing.

Is that practical? Probably not. Finding like minded players to reinforce the fun of the game is important. However, it doesn't require arguing over which team could win a meaningless game at some point in time.

Game Over
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostNo club has to change their teams. They can stay the same as they are now. And no club is forced to compete in US Soccer sanctioned leagues or tournaments. There are other options and if US Soccer keeps up with their misguided, heavy handed, Neanderthal ways of doing business they will lose a lot of the youth soccer landscape. They don't have a monopoly on soccer in this country. All they have is membership in a foreign body (FIFA). Other organizations can and do compete in this space.
If (US SOCCER) didn't have the monopoly/control this change would not be happening.
What 'other' rogue outfits are competing with US Soccer in the States? Please educate all of us about these 'other organizations' that would be nice to know vs your vague generalization and wishful thinking.

Please in the meantime find yourself a spaceship that's takes you to an intergalactic worm hole and start your own way of structuring youth age groups, along with your neanderthal buddies colonizing a new planet.

Just because something is happening now doesn't mean it won't change in the future.

Let the good times Roll!
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThe Seattle Reign Academy will likely be the tipping point for the Washington team's strength and depth. Up until recently XFire and WPFC both obtained depth from taking Oregon based players and attracting better Seattle based players away from other clubs like Eastside. The more options available the more likely they won't get to throw as wide of a net. This will be good for Oregon as we will become more competitive.
With the advent of the Timbers/Thorns US GDA it's true Oregon will become more competitive and consolidate all the best talent onto just a couple of age specific HS aged teams vs the watered down mess of what's going on in OYSA and ECNL.
Maybe it will take a turn for the better in Oregon within a year an half.
Thanks Timbers/Thorn and US Soccer for pulling our families and players out of this ugly cesspool of diluted girls soccer. Appreciated. With that said can you get us any quality coaches? That's the biggest gripe currently.

Wait, the Timbers clubs already do that - up until U14 that is when all their girls teams fold up for lack of talent.
