I would say that ECNL is terrible. ECNL teams are coached by the same level of coaching that the TA has. I've seen the sessions that the ECNL coaches run. Let's be honest with ourselves. You pay $9k to play for the same coach that was coaching in the OPL league....you could be paying $2k to be coached by the same dude and playing here locally....and you don't get your arse handed to you each game. Trust me, those college scouts are not there to watch the Oregon teams players....don't forget, your DD and 90% of the other Oregon ECNL players will be playing college ball within 150 miles from home. You don't need ECNL to close that deal.
Pay attention next time your DD plays. Those coaches watching and evaluating are only looking at the top 1% that is on the field. They are not there to watch your DD
Looks like 150 mile guy is back... Lets see, St. Louis, Columbia, Davis, Arizona, Seton Hall all from ECNL. All further than 150 miles. By the way the other two or three that are getting close are also not in Oregon. The other benefit is these kids had multiple schools to negotiate with not just one school near their home town. None of the kids above are playing for just books or even 50% athletic. Columbia is the exception but that is just a cool deal for that kid! Good thing these kids didn't "trust 150 mile guy".

Cleaning house isn't the correct term and in fact everyone will more than likely keep their teams for the first year but you can lose your status if your club doesn't fall under the criteria.
And it won't be called ECNL.
ECNL IS GOING BYE BYE.
It will be called USSDA and only the clubs that can afford to have teams at $500 a player will make it. It won't be about money now
Your comment about "a club" needing to be able to pick up the tab for multiple age groups of GIRLS soccer makes me thing you are a TROLL

Until someone can post a link to a credible source (TS is not credible whatsoever) , then this thread is 100% troll bait.

Even if the US Soccer wanted to take over ECNL they would not be able to use the male DA model because ECNL covers more markets and literally three times as many players therefore they would need more money that what MLS is spending on the male DA.
Further I doubt they could get female players to accept the ownership rights issue and the exclusion of playing HS soccer.
US soccer should concentrate on getting the NCAA to increase the number of soccer scholarships to BOTH men's and women's soccer because these are the TRUE development leagues in this country.
Imagine how many more talented players would CONTINUE their playing career if both programs had 20 full rides to offer?
That would Double the number of male scholarships and increase the women's game by 50%.

Too bad ECNL never arrived in Portland. They said it did but they were lying. Third tier ECNL came here. Same costs but crappy product. But they think it's better than anything else so the maroons keep paying for it.
