1% of girls soccer players will go to division 1 schools. Fc Portland never gets 7 players to D1 and actually is one of the lowest of all Portland clubs in the last 10 years. Thusc or now crossfire Oregon has done a better job. For instance the recruiting class from two years ago held more division 1 players coming from TA clubs twice over. Vancouver had 3, Eugene had 2, west side had 3-4 (fury) and eastside had 1 to Portland state but I think she went to a different club like bridle mile her last year. Thusc had 4-5 (Ireland) and Fc Portland had maybe 3 but don't count the UP walk ons that didn't play a single minute.
The simple fact is that you don't hear about the kids that get great d2 offers near full rides or kids who get large sums for NAIA which all clubs have and you didn't have to risk going on a team that brings in 24 players to keep costs down and charges you 10k a year.
How about the many from this years class that won't get anything but spent their college tuition because their club (Fcp) needed something to get them out of bankruptcy risk.

Thusc maybe got 4 D1 commits one year but never in the world did Fc Portland average even 3 a year. That club is literally falling apart from the Clive Charles days. Parents and coaches will say or do anything to get your kid there.

I love how this all started because TT beat FCP this weekend. Looking at FCP's wins over the past Fall and this Spring, they shouldn't have been surprised or defensive about the loss. TT is a good team that beat FCP. It wasn't luck, or a mythical 4 shots/4 goals. And to say FCP would beat TT 8 of 10 games played is wishful thinking, at best. Be thankful you have competition. It was no fun playing in Silver last Fall, scoring 6-10 goals a game and not being heavily challenged.
Hope to get a rematch in the State Cup. TT will probably get a crap seeding because they were in Silver for the Fall...

[QUOTE=Unregistered;1765409]Is it a bad thing for a local school to offer spots to local girls? Isn't it better for these girls to get their education locally and get to play for their "home" school and town? Only a TA lemming would think otherwise.[/
Your reading comprehension is a bit lacking. Try to read between the lines then you'll know what I mean.
