Might want to learn a little math. FCP/THUSC/Xfire have the same number of HS girls teams as all 7 Timbers clubs combined. And playing at higher levels. Fact. But we all know that TA lemmings don't like the facts.

You mean the dozen or so every year compared 1 or 2 every 5 years for the TA clubs? Yeah, FC's really hurting and everything is glowing over in TA lemming land.

Fc p already tried a girls academy and it went badly after two years. They struggled to get trust and players after that. The big girls clubs at that time were thusc Vancouver west side and eastside had 4-5 into college.

This idea that they are good now is shocking. They are transitioning from bad to survival back to bad.

Nevermind that she hasn't played a minute of soccer. At least she's going to Oregon State for school! Did you see the other schools on the list? Very low level soccer and, what's worse, low level academics. My parents blew all my college money on travel soccer but at least I get to play soccer at Community College. What is wrong with soccer parents? Imagine if the CC kid had played rec soccer for fun & spent all those travel club soccer hours studying? Instead of flying to play in Vegas and other college showcases, these players could have been taking SAT review classes.

Parents should take a long hard look at that list. If your girl is the absolute very best in the club, the best you can hope for is 0 minutes (& likely little or no $$)at Oregon State. Is that worth the time & money investment of U10-u18 club travel soccer? Saying the club sent 13 to play soccer in college sounds impressive until you really look at the list. I suspect the lists at other clubs are similar. Dismal.

I would say yes if you are in it for the experience and not the scholarship. It isn't worth it for anyone otherwise.

I think instead of arguing TA club member vs Ecnl club member, we should all be taking those lists to our DoCs and saying "For the time & money we're spending, these results aren't acceptable. What as a club are you doing to improve both the soccer & academic level of colleges that you're getting your membership into?" "What are you telling the parents of u11-u13 girls in this club that has more than half of them thinking their dds are on a direct path to a full ride at UCLA/Stanford and even the USWNT and Olympic glory because they do ODP/PDP

"Why aren't you going over the lists and saying "We only got one girl into a lower level D1 school without much money or playing time and we need to do MUCH better!" As a parent of multiple kids at different clubs, I can honestly say that I have never heard a single coach, well except one, that told kids they were going to get a college scholarship. And before you tell me my kids suck, I mean any kid on any team. Most are honest and say that the odds are against you and that education regardless of scholarship is the most important thing. It is also good to remember that a D1 scholarship is a job might not be the best way to get an education.
